Is anyone up? Waiting on ambulance and could do with a handhold

I am so scared. I am having chest pain (not significant, just a tightening) but so many palpatations over the past 36 hours that have suddenly started happening all the time, not just when lying flat like last night.

Ambulance called (via 111) but they cant say how long it will be, which I understand.

I have DD2(14) upstairs and awake, worrying. DD1(24) is still asleep as she has additional needs and I dont want to worry her and then have to leave. DD2 is under instructions what to do in the morning if I am not here.

I am scared. Did I mention that Blush I am nearly 50, morbidly obese due to health issues and feeling that I can't breathe.

I hope all is ok with everything OP and that you get some much needed rest soon.

Nat6999 · 14/12/2021 01:17

I feel like that with B12 deficiency, plus like millions of tiny heartbeats right through my body, could you be B12 deficient? It goes with thyroid & Iron deficiency, unless they are all balanced then it will cause symptoms, are you due for thyroid bloods?

QuestionableMouse · 14/12/2021 01:22

I get palpitations with my anemia which is horrible! Also sometimes feel short of breath.

First of all try not too worry too much we always think the worst, get yourself to hospital and get checked out, it could be menapasaul or could be thyroid issues, the more you worry about palpatations and a fast heart rate the worst it will be, I hope you get sorted quickly.

Rainbows246 · 14/12/2021 05:58

Hope your ok. Could be longer effects of covid. It causes weird things sometimes. I was a&e with fast heart rate,palpitations and pain last year. Everything ok it was anxiety ( not surprising since I work on a ward!) and since I had the ECG and knew it wasn’t my heart I’ve been fine since.

With other health conditions It could be anything so you e done the right thing. Hopefully you are being seen. Good luck.

@SpinnersWindow
I failed to see your warning and I think I need some medical attention after your story. Thankfully we use a fake tree for the last number of years..

@YetAnotherUserNameForMe
Hope you're ok OP?

falalalalalalalallama · 14/12/2021 08:11

I hope you're OK. Please don't let them convince you you have anxiety when you've said you have nothing to be anxious about.

Women get diagnosed later than men for all sorts of things as men's symptoms are taken seriously and they're more likely to be referred on to the experts.

Women are much more likely to have our symptoms dismissed and told it's all in our heads. This is well documented and yet it still happens.

PrivateHall · 14/12/2021 08:13

I hope you are ok OP!

YetAnotherUserNameForMe · 14/12/2021 08:53

I am home Smile

@falalalalalalalallama I think this is what the paramedics were thinking when they initially got here, I mean I was sitting up talking etc. I kept saying I am used to anxiety and this is different - which I then got told anxiety can present in different ways...

Other paramedic could see how breathless I was though, and temp was quite low so they did an ecg which showed up something (sorry, I cant quite remember what and havent got the paperwork to hand) so off I went to hospital. Doc wasnt too concerned about ecg as I am already in the system and she was happy to wait until scan next month as initial bloods were ok. I was discharged on the understanding that if full bloods show something I was to come straight back.

Thank you to all for keeping me calm in the early hours, it was very stressful! DD2 happily went off to her school bus this morning before I got back (we had been messaging as soon as she woke so she knew I was ok) and DD1 has just woke completely oblivious to it all!

Sorry, forgot to say - most likely cause is probably booster/covid apparently.
