@SerenTarot Emilia is timeless in that it has been used for centuries. Eg it was a Roman name and is used in Shakespeare. But I agree it is excessively popular at the moment which would definitely put me off. It’s like Sophia in that sense.
Based on your criteria Mary is timeless, Matilda is timeless, Eleanor is timeless, Elizabeth is timeless ...all names that have been used for centuries. What does 'timeless' even mean?
All names ebb and flow with the decades. All names go in and out of fashion.
My mum's name was Iris. She was born in 1926. I never met another Iris in my whole life until about 10 years ago, when suddenly, it became popular again as a name for baby girls. My grandmother was called Adelia. She was born in 1903. I've never met another Adelia and as far as I know it hasn't come back into fashion, but it might.
My name is Jennie not short for anything but just as it is. I've met Jennifers and Genevieves and even a Jenny or two, but I've never met another Jennie. In fact the only one I've come across is Winston Churchill's mother.
Just because a name was used in the past doesn't make it timeless. It's an old name, fair enough, but it's usage will have ebbed and flowed as all things do.
If the OP wants to go with Emilia she should. But what you, I or anyone else thinks is irrelevant.
