How do I get an Iceland shop 40 mins home?

I've bought a huge freezer, I would love to do an Iceland shop but they don't deliver to me and my nearest is 40 mins drive away.

I assume everything will melt on the drive home? Is there a solution I've missed?

Yes OP I dont drive so take my my trolley to Iceland. By the time I get home its probably been 40 mins, so I'm sure it'll be fine.

So much snobbery with Iceland. They are great for frozen veg, fruit, and meat. And there's nothing wrong with having a few pizzas/ready meals in the freezer for those days when you can't be bothered to cook.

I go to a big Iceland store about once every 2 months to do a big shop,i.e. as much as I can get in my shopping trolley. It's 2 buses away and takes roughly 50 minutes. So far I've never had anything defrost. I pack it into a couple of insulated bags before putting in my trolley, and everything is pretty much still frozen solid when I get home. The only exception I make is that I don't buy ice-cream in hot weather as it does tend to thaw out quicker than anything else.

Is it not worth stocking up from Aldi if nearer? I tend to find Iceland disappointing, then I buy fairly basic frozen stuff

I had this same dilema yesterday over buying those frozen meatballs from IKEA! It was a spur of the moment thought, so I didn't bring a cool bag. Wish I'd gone ahead and got them now!

It's not going to melt in 40 minutes.

It will be fine, especially if all piled up together. If you're worried, throw a blanket or duvet over it, to keep the cold in. This works well. Or buy insulated bags.
Other supermarkets do sell frozen food though and might be closer. What's so special about Iceland? (unless you're into the extreme end of the convenience food market).

That stuff has been in the deep freeze for months. A 40 minute trip in your car isn’t going to melt it beyond edibility.

If its anything like my local Food Warehouse (part of the Iceland group) then it's massive with loads of different freezer foods alongside chilled and dry goods

Yeah it is a food warehouse so lots of options. I do have a local Aldi but it's pretty small and that's 20 mins away anyway. I fancied a super frozen change.
