Please help me! NOTHING but trouble with Dyson, I cannot buy another. Are Miele any good and if so which model? Or any other suggestions? I don’t care about budget it just needs to work well and not constantly break!

Henry. Reliable and easy to use.

Bobsyer · 07/12/2021 13:35

Definitely a Miele.

We’ve just got one, got sick to the back teeth of the Dyson dying ten minutes into hoovering a room - it’s amazing. It is heavy, and it was about £300, but it’s SO worth it. My mum had her older model for 20 years easily and it was always great.

We didn’t go for the cat and dog one but we did get the bagless version and an extra stairs attachment which is really handy.

We have a Miele (don’t know model but it’s mustard yellow in colour) inherited from my grandma and she died in 2008. It wasn’t new then. Admittedly the flap is a bit broken but the actual machine still works well. I know modern vacuums might not be as powerful now due to changes in regulations.

It is heavy though. That’s why my grandma gave it to us because she couldn’t manage it.

Everyone seems to rate Henry, we had one for years and I absolutely hated it, so cumbersome and heavy. Replaced it with a Miele Cats and dogs and wow so so so much better, love it although it's quite ugly Smile

bananaboats · 07/12/2021 14:20

Hated my Dyson too, replaced it with the cordless Henry and never looked back i actually cant believe the difference!

thetemptationofchocolate · 07/12/2021 14:22

I bought a Miele Cat & Dog. Worst buy ever, I hate it.
I got a Henry in an auction and he's brilliant. He picks up more stuff, and quicker, than the Miele.

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 07/12/2021 14:23

Looking at the Miele c3 cat and dog now. I’m not keen on Henry’s find them very cumbersome.

If you find Henry cumbersome you’ll hate the Miele.

AmandaHugenkiss · 07/12/2021 14:24

Shark pet. It practically sucks the floor through the carpet, it’s amazing.

WirKindervomBahnhofZoo · 07/12/2021 14:28

Sebo upright - it's amazing!

userxx · 07/12/2021 14:33

Loved my hetty hoover, my back didn't though so I bought a Vax liftaway one. Great on carpet but not so much on hard floors.

rslsys · 07/12/2021 16:31

Sebo here too. Engineered like nothing else. Full service changing all the filters takes about 2 minutes.

Kjr33 · 07/12/2021 16:43

Reluctantly have to agree that the Henry is the best hoover, my oh had one when we moved in together and I hated it and insisted my Dyson was better…..wrong! Used the Henry twice and then sold the Dyson. Henry is heavy to get up the stairs but apart from that no problems. Have borrowed and used other vacuums (my parents etc) but nothing comes close. I just now insist he has to hoover upstairs from time to time to save my back.

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 07/12/2021 16:50

The cordless Henry is a fair bit lighter than the plug in one. And far more convenient for moving around as no cords or sockets to worry about. I bought mine after many years of using clients’ own hoovers, mostly they had rechargeable dysons that are woeful. Or they had cheap vax hoovers and the head was broken or the cord didn’t unwind fully. Some sensible people had Henry’s Wink anyway I got fed up going to houses to find crap hoovers so I bought my cordless Henry and kept him in the car. I already had a Miele, a shark, a hoover dust buster type thing and a rechargeable in the house. I realised after a while when cleaning my own house I was going to the hassle of going out to the car and getting Henry and then putting him back out rather than use any of the ones already in the house. He’s so much easier to use.

idontlikealdi · 07/12/2021 16:56

Vax pet. I love it. Had dysons previously.

Sharondance · 18/02/2022 13:36
