Christmas gift for cleaner-cash or gift?

I've been wondering what to get our cleaner for Xmas. Dh thinks a gift I think cash.
She works via an agency so I thought £50 in cash would be good. That's the same as a clean ( well that's what I pay the agency).
Her last clean will be 20th so I thought cash might be good in the run up to Xmas. Dh thinks some champagne and chocolates. Which would you prefer?

In that case I'd give cash. I give mine a present; there's three of them a mum and daughter and another girl so k do a gift bag with various bits in it.

Cleaning is not a job that's usually done by people with lots of money to spare.
I would give money that could do a full Christmas shop for someone on a low income rather than a couple of luxury items

My cleaner loves Christmas, her tree is up already, so I have bought her an expensive bauble for her tree that I know she will love and I will give her a bottle of fizz.

Imagine if everyone they clean for gives them Chocs &/or booze they'll have loads of luxury stuff but no food.
Cash means they can get what they want.

Remember too lots of people don't drink or don't like chocolate.

I love my cleaner! We do a money bonus, gift for her (perfume this year) and gifts for her tween girls (bath bombs and a jigsaw this year).

As a cleaner I never have much money. So I have always been really happy with cash.
Some people have bought chocolates. ( I’m dairy free ) or wine. I don’t drink.

Cash equivalent to a week's clean is spot on - if you want to do chocs or anything else it needs to be as extra

I gave a £50 note to my childminder (a few years ago now!) and she cried (with happiness I’m pleased to say)! I think it was the single note that made the difference!)

I’ve done both because I genuinely couldn’t function without her - so she gets the equivalent of a week’s clean plus something nice for her eg posh hand cream or chocs. This year I’ve got her a little Elvis handbag charm because she loves him 😄

I’m in Dingwall so if you’re Inverness then I’m not far from you and the highest pay I’ve seen from agency cleans near the north east is £12 in Banchory so it’s likely that £50 is more than she makes for your clean. One agency I work for is the highest paid domestic one I’ve found and they take £15-£20 an hour while paying us £10.60 an hour. She probably makes £10-£20 under what you pay.

I think she makes £10ph so I thought I'd give her what I pay for a clean.

Cash, a nice bottle of fizz and paid for the week off between Christmas and New year. I'd be lost without her!

That’s fine. I’d agree with the others about cash though. I really hate it when people give me Amazon vouchers. Shopping at Amazon makes my flesh crawl. Their staff have worse conditions than me and I’m either scrubbing shite or shovelling it at either of my jobs.
