If you have a smart meter how much do you spend on average per day this time of year?

Just that really, currently spending between £3.50-£4.50 a day can't work out if that is loads or normal.

3 bed house, combi boiler, heating on for about 4 hours a day do a clothes wash every other day, no tumble dryer, cook from scratch once a day but nothing that has the oven on for hours like a roast or whatever.

£435 per day isn’t possible, unless you’re drip feeding & later reveal your the Queen. Sorry, no one spends near £500 per day on their g&e.

£2-£2.50 per day so far

3 bed small semi bung, faces S (so on sunny side of the pair) gets warm very quickly when sun out. Heating (gas) has been off since May, Combi boiler, Use shower only. Line-dry clothes, or put on clothes-horse in spare bedroom, rarely use tumbler.

@Qik Are you running a skunk farm?

Nope, just normal average household bills with something factored in for Christmas presents and holidays. It comes to £158,780 a year and I divided that by 365 days to get to £435 a day.

FloorWipes · 02/09/2022 08:59

I’m surprised people have heating on in early September. Suppose we are fortunate to have a decently insulated house. We haven’t needed to turn it on for months. We are in central Scotland.

OP asked how much do we spend a day if we have a smart meter. I have answered correctly.

Kezzie200 · 03/09/2022 06:35

No smart meter but we do monthly readings. August was about £77. So £2.50 ish a day.

3 bed detached 2 residents

Thighdentitycrisis · 03/09/2022 07:14

At the moment about £1.00 per day. 2 bed conversion in an old terrace. 1 adult only.
Combi boiler, 3 baths a week, avg 2 loads of washing. I cook on gas every couple of days and then heat up food quickly. Minimal hoovering!

cakeorwine · 03/09/2022 07:53

We use 3 - 4 KWH of electricity a day - which is a much more useful guide as people can have different costs. - so about £1 a day

Gas - 5 - 7 KWH a day - but that's summer costs. - so about 35p

What is your gas and electricity usage in KWH?

You can see if it's gas or electricity which is contributing

FFS - this is a thread from December.

No wonder people have heating on!!

AlwaysLatte · 03/09/2022 07:58

We try and keep it down to £10 a day but usually don't manage it!

missedtherainbow · 03/09/2022 07:59

£5.80 a day at the moment, 5 bedroom 3 storey house, 7 people. Only 43p of that is gas at the moment. The electric is high because we have an electric car that is plugged in most nights.
