Yes.

freelions · 03/12/2021 15:50

Depends on the circumstances and how often they do it

Occasionally selfie. No problem

Regular selfies all over social media. Big eye roll

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 03/12/2021 15:52

The odd selfie from time to time, no problem with that. A little vanity is fine.

Daily selfies complete with filters and pouts and eye-fucking the camera is a bit tragic. Too much vanity is a bad thing.

Soldoutinyoursize · 03/12/2021 15:53

Why, so you can feel superior?. I'm not a selfie taker myself but I don't give a shit what anyone else does.

Ifailed · 03/12/2021 15:55

According to MN Law, someone's appearance is solely their own business and nothing to do with anyone else. Taking selfies for themselves is entirely up to them, but publishing them for others to see seems a bit odd.

faithfulbird20 · 03/12/2021 16:02

Of course. Mother in law takes normal photos and videos of my kids like she's paparazzi.

notacooldad · 03/12/2021 16:03

Not usually but when my friend is taking so many it interrupts the flow of our night I get really pissed off with them. She is 61 and forever saying ' me and you together, take one of me peeping from around this corner' ' take one of me looking....confused, sad, happy, thoughtful cute, whatever.
She drives me nuts these days.
Other people having a quick snap either by themselves or with a friend, no problem!

EduCated · 03/12/2021 16:03

No.

Whose · 03/12/2021 16:04

Pouty "for the gram" selfies, absolutely get an (internal) eye roll.

ToughTittyWhompus · 03/12/2021 16:05

I take selfie’s of me and my DC, otherwise there would be none of me and them being as I’m a lone parent.

ParkheadParadise · 03/12/2021 16:10

My niece does this on a night out it drives me bonkers.
Selfies every 2 mins. Then she takes pics of her food and drink. She's now started sending her mum and me pictures of all the things she wants for Christmas and what to get her kids.
She's 24!!! and a mother of 3🙈

MrsJBaptiste · 03/12/2021 16:11

Yes if they're posing and pouting to get the 'perfect' picture 🙄

I've just come back from acholudaybeirh my sister and she was doing this ^ every time we went down to the beach. Every photo will have been the same but it's all about the likes I guess...

Panacotta · 03/12/2021 16:13

It's so weird how some people just have selfies all over their own social media isn't it. "Like, we've seen you already 10,000 times lady!!!!"

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 03/12/2021 16:14

She is 61 and forever saying ' me and you together, take one of me peeping from around this corner' ' take one of me looking....confused, sad, happy, thoughtful cute, whatever.

peeping around the corner Grin

Ozanj · 03/12/2021 16:15

I love taking selfies and couldn’t care in the slightest what some random off the internet thinks about it Grin

Gearedtoyou · 03/12/2021 16:16

I've done about 3 in my life and they're all awful. I quite admire people who can do it well, but I would raise an eyebrow at people doing them often, just of themselves. Most I see are of groups of people

FourTeaFallOut · 03/12/2021 16:18

Yes.

ItsSunnyOutside · 03/12/2021 16:18

No.

BogRollBOGOF · 03/12/2021 16:19

Someone taking an occasional picture of themself to record doing something that makes them happy, no bother.

Trout pouting/ filters is pretty pointless.
Some people on groups I'm on seem to post the same selfie every day, every time they do the activity that that group is about. That gets pretty tedious.
But anything posted that repetitively gets monotonous.

CouncilHousedAndViolentBaby · 03/12/2021 16:25

No
I'm fit so I will document that x

GTAlogic · 03/12/2021 16:36

No. I occasionally take selfies, sometimes with my phone and sometimes with my actual camera and a remote shutter release. If I didn't there would be no photos of me and that would be a great shame Wink

Cheeseandlobster · 03/12/2021 16:47

Unless there is a good reason such as being a single parent and trying to capture pics of you and your children or if they are occasional selfies. However taking constant selfies is narcissism at its best. There is a woman at work who takes constant pouting selfies. You can never see where she is or even what she is wearing most of the time. Same photo different day. Just why?

amusedbush · 03/12/2021 16:52

Nope, I want to see my friends' selfies on social media. It usually means they were happy with their appearance at that moment and I'm always down to celebrate that!

HaroldSteptoesHorse · 03/12/2021 16:55

When the use of filters is apparent yet they get oh you look perfect.. reality vs social media

Earwigworries · 03/12/2021 16:56

I take selfies with the kids if there is no one to take a photo but I’ve never managed to take a selfie of me that wasn’t awful … to be honest I don’t like my picture taken full stop
