Are you drinking/going to drink alcohol this evening?

Can’t decide myself. I’m not going out but might pour myself a small glass. Also thinking if I don’t drink anything I will feel clear headed in the morning which is always a bonus. Will you be having a drink?

Littleelffriend · 27/11/2021 19:41

Yep on the wine probably drink the bottle

SingingSands · 27/11/2021 19:41

No - had work do last night and massively overdid it. I hardly drink these days, but the party atmosphere last night took over! Didn't get out of bed until lunchtime!

Youngatheart00 · 27/11/2021 19:43

Yup, enjoying some nice sauv B

Tired though so not going to manage a huge amount

Xiaoxiong · 27/11/2021 20:02

No - I had late nights and alcohol both thurs and fri night so I just don't fancy it tonight at all. DH is out so I've had a can of fancy sparkling water with ice, will have a cup of tea in a bit after the kids are asleep and then an early night!

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 27/11/2021 20:04

no

TurquoiseDragon · 27/11/2021 20:08

I've decided to have a tiny glass of Disaronno Amaretto. I've not had any for a long time, and I like to sip at it.

TuftyMarmoset · 27/11/2021 20:18

No, I rarely drink and have a cold atm so definitely wouldn't want to.

freshcarnation · 27/11/2021 20:22

Even soft drinks have rules for me now. No coffee after noon as caffeine will keep me awake half the night so ditto Diet Coke. No alcohol because can't tolerate it and the latest one is no sparking water any more because it irritates my bladder.

expatmigrant · 27/11/2021 20:22

Yes already had a couple and will have a few more.

DroopyClematis · 27/11/2021 20:29

Hic

I also never understand the people who are horrified at the thought of getting a bit pissed with their husband while the kids are in bed on a Saturday night because "what would we do in an emergency and couldn't drive to hospital?!" What do they think people who don't drive at all would do? Surely if it was such an emergency that calpol couldn't solve then an ambulance would be called

LBOCS2 · 27/11/2021 20:58

We went out to the pub for dinner and I had a glass of wine, and now I'm home it needs company but we have no wine in the house. So I'm considering cracking out the Baileys.

I should really have a night off as we were at a gig last night and I had a skinful, but I feel surprisingly fresh today.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 27/11/2021 20:58

Nope but I never drink. DH has a beer or two at the weekend with dinner. Tonight, he mixed it up by having gin.

This. I don't drive and DP often works overnight so I'm alone with 2 kids and no car.
Porthia · 27/11/2021 21:04

Yes, had one while the kids ate their tea and then one turned into 3 glasses (of nice wine). Stopping now as I have to get up at a decent time and go to an exercise class tomorrow morning. I should have stopped at one but never mind!

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 27/11/2021 21:06

Nope, have been battling anxiety and insomnia all week and felt so much better today. Don't need to risk setting myself off again and am just enjoying feeling naturally calm.
Plus I have a massage at 10 which I'd like to be fresh for

Libertaire · 27/11/2021 21:08

Yes, we had a bottle of Rioja with dinner and I will have a couple of beers later. Then maybe a whisky, because I have no plans to do anything other than chill tomorrow.

iklboo · 27/11/2021 21:39

I was in the mood afternoon.

iklboo · 27/11/2021 21:39

*After all

Coldenoughforyou · 27/11/2021 21:51

Well the moment passed so I had a cup of tea instead!

I’m not a person who espouses this view but surely it’s as much about alcohol impairing your judgment as not being allowed to drive? And there is definitely a middle ground between Calpol and an ambulance. You don’t generally need an ambulance for a broken limb but you do need to go to the hospital.
CloseThePackWithAClickClack · 27/11/2021 21:56

No. I don’t drink.

elp30 · 27/11/2021 22:00

After 20 years of drinking pretty much every weekend, to excess, I would normally say, "Hell yes!" to a drink but I made a decision on the last day of August to stop for good.

I'll join you in a drink OP but mine will be a peppermint tea ☕️
