The £700 eBay Christmas Centrepiece is back!

I'm surprised there is no thread about this already!

For the last few years some person has been trying to sell a homemade '12 Days of Christmas' themed table centrepiece, made from a Quality Street tin and cheap Christmas tree, with various plastic figures stuck on them for the princely sum of £699.
It has failed to sell over the past few years for some unfathomable reason 🤔

Anyone tempted?Grin

thats the sort of shit my brother would try and sell - arsehole

Level75 · 26/11/2021 15:06

At first I thought it must be a joke but I've just read some of the seller's other item descriptions and I think they're actually serious about this.

SmileyClare · 26/11/2021 15:11

THE WHOLE THING IS BASED ON AN UPTURNED QUALITY STREET TIN SO CAN ACTUALLY BE USED AS A CAKE TIN.

What the?... " Helen where's the Christmas cake, did you make one this year"?
"It's in the base of my Massive 12 days of Christmas figurine table display. Give me a couple of hours to get it out though, the plaster of Paris is hindering the lid. Actually, you might need to give me a hand lifting the fibre optic colour changing tree that's superglued to the top"
Hmm

Oooh, just think, it could be on display in your lounge by next Tuesday! Shock

Not long to wait to witness it up close & in person AND show it off to all your visitors...

Mumsnet has got some really amazing Christmas traditions going now! Grin It's really not Christmas until this ad shows up, although I've never been successful at reading the whole description.

Me? I'm just waiting for DanFmDorking Star

luluruns · 26/11/2021 15:19

Looking at that makes me feel some kind of way. Not a good way.

FelicityBeedle · 26/11/2021 15:23

This is the first year I’ve noticed the Five rings are all the One Ring. You can even see the engraving!
(Yep I’ve missed it in the description every time!

TheRealHousewife · 26/11/2021 15:24

£34.00 per month for 24 MONTHS 😮 Do people really buy these unique items?

The £700 eBay Christmas Centrepiece is back!
Santaischeckinglists · 26/11/2021 15:27

Surely it is meant to say £6.99??

Breathmiller · 26/11/2021 15:30

Maybe we should all put in to a kitty and get it for mumsnet HQ?

Merry Christmas MNHQ 🎅

Anotherbrokenairer · 26/11/2021 15:39

Lol bless....it did get a mention on the Halloween tat thread, then it got a shout out on the Facebook Xmas tat thread. This however is the first time I've seen a whole thread dedicated to it 😅. Moving up in the world!

starmoonsun · 26/11/2021 15:48

Its actually not as bad I was expecting, if your kids had made it you would display it on the table.
But its not worth £700, might watch it just for the crack.

I was just about holding it together but properly lost it at “the design has been tested full of strongbow cider cans” Grin

Danikm151 · 26/11/2021 16:01

MY EYES!
It was so hard to read their shouting capitals!

D'you know... This year we've had The shit show of Brexit and Covid but there is something so fricken amazing that this guy is not going to be beaten. Year in, year out he has a try.

Never thinks to alter the price, change the description or take new photographs. Nope. This is it. You know you want it.

He is called Cougar Rinard. Which by a bizarre coincidence is my pornstar name.

PinkyPromises · 26/11/2021 16:45

He actually says 'fun is not included'. Well shouts it Sad

Also isn't the song 'culley birds' and lords a 'lepping'?

Shame otherwise I might have bid.

As a pp said, you have to admire their optimism Confused[/quote]
There’s a voucher for £50 off though!

Garriet · 26/11/2021 16:50

I am loving that the French Hens are basically the same size as the lords’ horses.

BearSoFair · 26/11/2021 17:04

As soon as I saw the thread title I instantly remembered what it was going to be

'Years of planning and days of work' really tickles me Grin

muddyford · 26/11/2021 17:13

Reading the shouty description, he doesn't know the song. It's three French hens and two turtle doves, but this crafting nightmare has said the other way round. He should knock off the 99p.

VainAbigail · 26/11/2021 17:16

3 TURTLE DOVES, THESE ARE FROM WEDDING CAKE SHOP 2 FRENCH HENS

Is it not 3 French hens and 2 turtle doves?
