Morning all! What's everyone doing today?

I'm in my spot, in the kitchen, drinking my usual cuppa, in silence apart from the fridge humming & a dog barking somewhere.

Both girls are still sleeping but I'll get them up soon-ish. We need to go to Asda for something for tea tonight, and the beginning of the week.

I need to iron, wash up last night's few pots and sweep/mop the floors down here. Dd1 has homework and revision; she'll likely come down and sit with me while she does the homework.

Dd2 wants to carry on watching His Dark Materials so she'll probably do that after Asda.

I need to work out my Christmas shopping costs to go alongside my list & when I'll buy what. I bought the girls' stocking fillers yesterday, and a couple of small things for their dad.

Hopefully I'll find time to carry on with part of my crochet Christmas village, later on.

Not sure what's for tea yet, but I'll probably have a glass of wine with it.

What about all of you? :)

Exercise, working, family zoom and Strictly

Peridot1 · 20/11/2021 11:47

After my post I stood up to go empty the dishwasher and didn’t realise my foot had gone to sleep and went right over on my ankle. Scared the dog when I screamed in pain. Felt sick and shaky for a bit. DH got me some painkillers so am sitting still for a bit. He’s now doing the dishwasher. Dog is looking at me funny.

Feeling grotty after booster, house relatively tidy but clothes to put away, floors to clean, bathroom to do and kids to entertain sigh

Grumpy penny today!

DentalWorries · 20/11/2021 12:00

Hope you’re okay @Peridot1I broke my foot in exactly the same way so keep an eye on it.

Amdone123 · 20/11/2021 12:00

@Penny31, I was like that yesterday ( had mine Thursday), but I feel miles better today so you should feel better tomorrow. @Peridot1, hope you're ok.

Doughnuts68 · 20/11/2021 12:06

Dentalworries :- what events do you have planned?

DentalWorries · 20/11/2021 12:15

@Doughnuts68 so so many Blush but the majority are tied in with seeing family and friends in the run up to Christmas. We’re doing Christmas at Kew, Backyard Cinema (twice with different sets of families), Selfridges Christmas market, Ice skating at Somerset House and then our own Christmas party and various work ones plus I’ve got a Christmas dinner with girlfriends. I’ve also booked a very relaxing stay at a hotel I’ve been wanting to go to for years over new year as they had a very good package deal so that will be our opportunity to relax before going back to work Grin

I've been up since half 5...

Had coffee and a fried egg sandwich for breakfast.
Going to strip and dress the bed soon and then go out for a walk. Cooking a chicken casserole for dinner with plenty of mash!

Have a good weekend all

MrsBerthaRochester · 20/11/2021 13:08

Had coffee and the leftover kfc my dd and her pal dumped in kitchen. I dont like kfc but it cost a bomb so begrudged wasting it.
Having a lazy day. So strictly then a movie. Thinking of going into town tomorrow to the opening of xmas market. But that would mean washing my hair and I really cant be bothered!

Peridot1 · 20/11/2021 13:16

Thanks @DentalWorries and @Amdone123. It feels ok now. Managed a shower etc. Really thought it would put me out of action for a bit!

Dragonfire282 · 20/11/2021 13:37

I had a lovely walk at 8 this morning, very peaceful then I made a start on my watercolor Christmas cards. DS 12 has gone off mountain biking with his friends. I've not got back into bed for some mumsnet and a nap. Fish and chips and a film later.

Morning all! What's everyone doing today?
BunTooti · 20/11/2021 13:54

I washed and dried uniforms and stripped a couple of beds while DH took DS to his club this morning.
Bit more cleaning up and just had bacon sandwiches for lunch.
Going for a walk soon and a quick pint at a pub with an outdoor play area for DS. It's a lovely sunny, but cold, autumn day here.
Probably takeaway and a film later.
Tomorrow is food shopping, shirt ironing and homework early on and then the Christmas lights switch on. I'm excited!

trevthecat · 20/11/2021 14:05

We are having an early roast for tea ( know its not Sunday but dh works away and leaves tomorrow lunch time) then this evening we are walking onto the prom, getting the tram through Blackpool illuminations with the kids and get donuts. We haven't had the time to do things all together for 3 months. We've all very excited!!

First weekend off since July , so have walked the dog , washed all my work shirts (16 ! ) and am now paused in the chopping of red onions for red onion marmalade for Christmas. Am doing a trial run for a slightly different mince pie recipe , the oven is warning for my Christmas cake , and my soaked in alcohol fruit is just coming to room temperature. Nigella and her fairy lights is on the planner and I am embracing my inner waftiness .

mamaduckbone · 20/11/2021 17:19

Lovely day here.

I had a bit of a lie-in and did some cleaning this morning then went to an open house Christmas fair at the farm shop where ds1 works with ds2, my mum and auntie whilst Dh got on with painting ds1's bedroom.

Pottered into town with Dh and ds2 this afternoon to pick up a few bits then settled down to watch the rugby with a glass of wine.

Ds1 is due home any minute but he may fly back out again to meet his mates. Ds2 and I are making pork tacos for dinner although the afternoon wine isn't making me feel very inclined.
