What quirky song did you walk down the aisle to?

I'm getting married next year and want something fun to walk down the aisle to. We're having a non-religious ceremony in the centre of Manchester and it'll be a fairly non-traditional affair so I'm looking for something quirky and not your usual fluffy love song.

Please inspire me with your songs Smile

The Moulin Rouge version of Your Song.

There is a woman I follow on social media called Nicole Reynolds who posts her piano versions of famous songs as wedding entrances. My favourite is Toto’s Africa.

Arrival of the Queen of Sheba ... but was a church wedding so on the organ. Currently daydreaming about if dp and I marry, dd thinks cantique de Jean Racine or something by John Ireland

We had What a Beautiful Day by the Levellers.

I've been to 3 weddings in recent times that had How Long Will I Love You by Goulding. It's not quirky but the go to song for weddings ATM. Also been to two which had the same Ed Sheeran track in the last few years and know a colleague had the same one too. So perhaps avoid both of those!

Not quirky but walked in to Labi Siffre It Must Be Love, and out to Straight No Chasers version of Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

Feuer Frei! - Rammstein No sentimental reasons but both of us love the band and it was fun to jump out of the venue door on the chorus Grin
Love it!

I'd be tempted to have Du Hast Grin

The curtains closed on MILs coffin at the crem to Don't Stop me Now. Genius choice BUT It's quite popular on the radio so DH often has to pull over to compose himself

We chose that for my mum. It's bittersweet, but I smile when I hear it.

When I was a bridesmaid we all came into Here come the girls .... (was the boots advert a little while before) My mate had told she was having something classical so it was a complete surprise.... we literally ended up dancing down the aisle, waving our bouquets. Great memory!

bettertimesarecomingnow · 14/11/2021 16:28

Bruno Mars, Marry You.

IBelieveInAThingCalledScience · 14/11/2021 16:34

We got married at the beach on the other side of the world and there was no music, but I'd fancy "Highway to Hell" for fun

Lilolily · 14/11/2021 16:41

I walked down the aisle to Green Day Tome of your Life

EJT89 · 14/11/2021 16:45

@BackAwayFatty

Our choices to walk down the aisle are;

Bridesmaids; Jurassic Park Theme by the Piano Guys.

Bride; The wedding March by Queen

Still deciding what we will walk back out too!

That's so funny - I walked down the aisle to the Jurassic Park theme song by The Piano Guys! we got engaged in Hawaii where the movie was filmed.

Not many people recognised the song but a few did which was nice to see Smile

Hope you have a great wedding x

Pashazade · 14/11/2021 16:51

Walked in to the Joan Hickson Miss Marple theme, gospel choir sang Lean on Me & It Must Be Love whilst we signed the register and I think we walked out to the Poirot theme!

No hopers, jokers and rogues by Fisherman's Friends

dolphins1203 · 14/11/2021 17:00

I had Concerning Hobbits from The Fellowship of The Ring as mine. We absolutely adore the books and films. It made me smile so much, such a joyful, upbeat piece of music.

whatwouldnigellado · 14/11/2021 17:01

Walked down the aisle to something by max richter (DH choice). Walked back out of the church to ‘bring me sunshine’ by Morecambe and Wise.

AreYouRightThereSkippy · 14/11/2021 17:03

My brother had Start Wearing Purple. I still don't know why! But it was good fun.

Every day I love you less and less was also suggested...but that may be a bit too quirky

SquirrelFan · 14/11/2021 17:05

Before I walked down the aisle: The Beatles' When I'm 64. Played on a flute.

alwayswrighty · 14/11/2021 17:07

Instrumental of 'bittersweet symphony' was ours.

stayignorant · 14/11/2021 17:07

Towers by Bon Iver ☺️

londonmummy1966 · 14/11/2021 17:07

I wanted to walk down the aisle to Bach's toccata in d minor but DH vetoed that as too doom and gloom.

1forAll74 · 14/11/2021 17:08

i didnt have any music as such 1960 era, just some very elderly man sitting at an organ, who seemed to be falling asleep, whilst playing some out of tune churchy type thing, I wish he had fallen off his velvet covered chair, to give us a laugh and liven things up.!
