What would you have as an easy treat dinner? Home alone

Any suggestions? I'm home alone, don't want a takeaway. Going to morrisons later and I can't think what I fancy. Something easy but feels like a treat.

I’d cool a yummy steak.. nice sauce with a glass of wine. Then it’s a real treat if your not used to being home alone.
I spend a lot of time of my own as DH works odd hours…. So I’ve got used to the bog standard meals 🤣 but with a glass of wine

Cerephina · 30/10/2021 08:51

I make cauliflower cheese. Just choose a small cauliflower and make your own cheese sauce, I like to add sliced tomatoes on top before it goes in oven with cheeses sprinkled on top. It’s easy and delicious

Amdone123 · 30/10/2021 08:54

I'd have a mini buffet ! If you're going to morrisons, I'd get mini quiche, Indian selection, salad, French bread, cheeses.
I'm hungry.

Iseeyoulookingatme · 30/10/2021 09:01

I'm having a cheese board later with ds, he requested it. It's nice and easy, no cooking.

WhatonEarth1 · 30/10/2021 09:02

Scrambled egg and smoked salmon stuffed into croissant
Dr Oetker stone baked sourdough pizza
Cranberry, Brie and bacon toasted sandwich

CottonSock · 30/10/2021 09:03

Something my family don't like, maybe Charlie binghams macaroni cheese.

AdaColeman · 30/10/2021 09:04

Fillet steak, salad, maybe a ready made fresh peppercorn sauce. Then some nice cheese & grapes. Wine Wine

Chicchicchicchiclana · 30/10/2021 09:05

I would have a load if deli stuff from Marks & Spencer plus cheese and crackers.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 30/10/2021 09:06

something the kids don't like. aubergine parmigiana probably.

TheUndeadLovelinessOfDemons · 30/10/2021 09:06

I'm really loving the autumn range in Sainsbury's, so maybe a peppered steak pie followed by bread and butter pudding.

SirChenjins · 30/10/2021 09:07

Buffet type food from M&S - olives, meats, cheeses, that type of thing. I’d happily graze away for the evening rather than having a single meal.

inappropriateraspberry · 30/10/2021 09:10

Cheese! Or some tortellini, followed by cheese! Plus all the stuff DH doesn't like - olives, feta, etc.

TyrannosaurusRights · 30/10/2021 09:13

Stuffed pasta- DH doesn’t care for it so I rarely get it.

Or shashuka (same issue).

I love a cheese board too. But he’ll happily share that.

Mogloveseggs · 30/10/2021 09:19

Quiche from the deli bit with new pots and salad

SummerOrAutumn · 30/10/2021 09:21

Pizza and garlic bread (no judging, double carbs 😋) and a watercress salad.

Or veggie quarterpounder, chips and mushy peas.

femfemlicious · 30/10/2021 09:22

Yummy steak with prepped dauphinois potatoes and avocado, tomato and rocket salad. YUM

TrueRefuge · 30/10/2021 09:22

I like the idea of a buffet tea, all the little bits you enjoy and can graze on as you watch a movie (which my partner would insist is not a real meal).

Or pasta bake with salad and homemade garlic bread! Yum!

Whatever you decide, enjoy!

femfemlicious · 30/10/2021 09:24

OR steak eith cauliflower cheese😍

BeyondMyWits · 30/10/2021 09:25

Fresh pasta, cook for 3 min... stir tablespoon of creme fraiche, handful of torn smoked salmon, loads of cracked black pepper and a generous squeeze of lemon. (Maybe stir some spinach into the hot pasta if you need some green stuff)

5 minute meal... literally.

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 30/10/2021 09:28

As others have said. I would go for the nicest steak you can afford (as you only need to buy one?!) then salad and a jacket potato cooked fully in the oven (not the microwave-oven combo that I do when the DC are around) with loads of butter, salt and pepper.. mmm

Justyouwaitandseeagain · 30/10/2021 09:29

Whatever anyone else doesn’t like, or something that’s easy. Ready made cous cous salad, ready made potato salad with pre cooked salmon, sun dried tomatoes and mozzarella in pesto oil. Or a Thai takeaway. Baked Camembert and fresh baguette to dip.

winterisaroundthecorner · 30/10/2021 09:35

Salmon and couscous salad with sesame dressing.

MintMe · 30/10/2021 09:49

Buffet tea if I have the time to go and get the stuff from M&S.

If not, spaghetti and sausage on toast!

sashh · 30/10/2021 10:03

A rotisserie chicken, nice bread and some other nibbles, maybe some coleslaw, olives, nice cheese and some good wine.

SinoohXaenaHide · 30/10/2021 10:10

I would buy a salmon steak, a bottle of white wine and some pre-prepared veg, and a jar of Béarnaise sauce. Salmon poached in white wine with a scattering of peppercorns is zero effort - literally just bung in the oven - and delicious.
