Does anyone else just want to empty out half of all of the contents to see what the rooms are actually like?

here.

I don't think its actually that bad. Those red drapes in the bedroom are very gaudy and the glassware in the kitchen is odd... but most of the rooms aren't that cluttered and once the furniture was removed it would be fantastic.

A bit weird to be so close to a campsite but I think it could be overlooked (literally)

DockOTheBay · 27/10/2021 01:59

I do think the estate agent has been a bit over enthusiastic by including 71 photographs and starting the description with "Ship Ahoy grab your periscope, an splice the main brace, drop your anchor here at Anchor Point" 😂

Wallywobbles · 27/10/2021 04:32

I thought it was a hotel or B&B

Standrewsschool · 27/10/2021 07:17

Certainly opulent.

Love the room with the map on the wall.

Beautiful house and views, although overlooks a car park.

Those curtains would have cost a fair bit of money - they wouldn’t come cheap.

BalloonSlayer · 27/10/2021 07:19

I have never seen so many places to sit in one house! You could be someone who couldn't walk more than 10 yards and never get bored as there would be a different place to sit every nine. Wonderful house.

StormyCornishSeas · 27/10/2021 07:25

The views are lovely.
Why are the wine glasses in the dining room at a funny angle.
Unlike many houses on these threads it's mostly decorative tastes not structure so it's easy to redo.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 27/10/2021 07:29

Multiple ceiling lights, must be a bitch to change them all.

MerryMarigold · 27/10/2021 07:36

@teaandakitkattodunk

What is the box outside in picture 8?
This i was wondering too. Looks like a TARDIS. I love this house and it's almost within our budget!! Except round here you can only get a 4 bed semi with a view of a road from the front and other houses from the back.
BoxOfDreams · 27/10/2021 07:46

I really dislike these "let's bitch about someone's much loved home" threads. So it's not to your taste? I'm sure your home wouldn't suit everyone either.

hotmeatymilk · 27/10/2021 07:50

It’s busy but my gift (thanks to spending more time on Rightmove than Mumsnet, and that’s saying something) is being able to visualise a house without its stuff. It’s not even that full!

What would stop me buying it (aside from funds Grin) is the dreadful builder’s pox on the ceilings in pic 14 – vendors will take their crap with them, but CBA with sorting out those awful lights.

It’s a lift 😃
MerryMarigold · 27/10/2021 08:20

A lift to the beach??? ❤️

shylatte · 27/10/2021 08:38

The link isn't appearing for me, can anyone repost it please? My dream home has swags and tails 😬

AlfonsoTheUnrepetant · 27/10/2021 08:50

I am amused by the drumkit in the bedroom.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 27/10/2021 09:03

It looks like it's in good condition under all the decor, so that's good. I'm a bit clumsy and definitely wouldn't be able to walk across that red sitting room without knocking something over.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 27/10/2021 09:04

I think it's a lift from the garage/car parking area to the front door.
PanicBuyingSprouts · 27/10/2021 09:05

@shylatte try here Smile

TheFairyCaravan · 27/10/2021 09:11

I’d buy it. Those views are stunning.

The lift is an excellent addition for disabled people like me.

labazslovesliving · 27/10/2021 09:19

it's odd as it's quite a modern light house yet the inside decor is very time-warped. even the outside is cluttered too in places. could be very nice house light airy and done in neutral colours with less tat

wavingwhilstdrowning · 27/10/2021 09:20

That is a truly beautiful home

daisypond · 27/10/2021 09:25

I think that’s a lovely house. It’s nowhere near as bad as your description led me to believe. Yes, the swags and tails are a bit dated, but lots of people still have them - my parents do - and the many ceiling spotlights are too much, but otherwise it’s lovely. It just looks like a normal house- with lovely views - to me, maybe owned by some people getting on in years.

userg5647 · 27/10/2021 09:54

The spotlights could set off trypophobia!

shylatte · 27/10/2021 10:30

OP thanks. The house will be lovely once the owner's stuff is removed. I'm partial to a swagger and tail, but the 'feature walls' were overkill even for me. I was very disappointed by the bathrooms, very new build 1990s vibe and no additional "style" to reflect the owner's bad taste. The EA's description is an embarrassment, I'd be sacking them, but I suspect the owner loves it Grin

Daisy829 · 27/10/2021 10:34

What a beautiful house. I could easily see past all the clutter to purchase it.

daisypond · 27/10/2021 10:47

I don’t even think it’s particularly cluttered.
