Is this level of detail in a Christmas bauble really necessary...?

I mean, really John Lewis? What were your designers thinking?!

@JackieCollinshasnoauthority

It's a dinosaur who's had too much fun at centre parcs.
What do you do at centre parcs? 😂
ASB123 · 26/10/2021 23:04

@FingersofFish

Well now I've seen the butt hole I want one
The butt hole or the dinosaur?
Jouleigh · 26/10/2021 23:04

That's amazing, am now trying to see what else I can buy. DP lives presents like that.

Any suggestions welcome!Grin

@SoupDragon

How is a dinosaur a Christmas ornament?

Hehehe I thought this was a frog design at first before I opened the photo

Heruka · 26/10/2021 23:11

Grin MN hasn’t made me laugh out loud for a while…

Mouseketeer2015 · 26/10/2021 23:18

I blame you OP, I didn't buy a festive Dinosaur but couldn't resist the Beaver Christmas Tree decoration for DH....🤣

DukeofEarlGrey · 26/10/2021 23:22

@SoupDragon

If you have to have a hole where it was "blown" from, it goes at the top where the ribbon is. Like every other bauble.

Anyway, this was a lighthearted thread. I know it's not actually a dinosaur anus.

I've got to send him back anyway as he has a crack in his front leg. 🙁

You’ll return him because of the crack but not the butthole?
tickledtiger · 26/10/2021 23:43

The butthole makes even less sense because of how bloated he looks op.

In any case I think £12 is a steal for what appears to be an anatomically correct T-Rex, hyperrealistic merely scaled down of course.

I’d keep it and have him grace the top of the tree.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/10/2021 23:55

I've emailed them with a photo in the hope they'll send me a replacement and not to bother sending back the broken one.

Quite right, it would be irresponsible of them to insist you send broken glass through the post.

SoupDragon · 27/10/2021 10:04

In an amazing show of superb customer service, they have already replied and said they will send me a replacement with no mention of returning the disabled dinosaur. Hurrah!

Three0fivepointfour · 27/10/2021 10:09

Maybe it needs such a large bottom hole to keep all it’s rights safely hoarded?

SoupDragon · 27/10/2021 10:09

You’ll return him because of the crack but not the butthole?

Would you want a dinosaur with 2 holes and only one crack?

Surprised no paleontologists have already commented tbh

They have all passed out at the lack of any resemblance to a TRex.

I sent a screenshot of that beaver to a friend 😂

@ChequerBoard

How is a dinosaur a Christmas ornament?

Don't recall them being around for the nativity??

You don't recall? Were you there?

You'd be horrified by our tree. We have a sloth, a narwhal, a pig, Father Christmas on a rocket, a penguin, a moose. The list, happily, goes on...

MissCruellaDeVil · 27/10/2021 10:51

What unfortunate placement😂

ErrolTheDragon · 27/10/2021 13:29

It's hard to tell from the side view but I think the brachiosaurus is similarly adorned

Having just had a partial scroll through the JL glass baubles, I'm currently bemused by this 'festive' item. I mean, as heads of broccoli go it's very nice, and the vegetable may well figure on the Xmas lunch plate - but 'festive'?ConfusedGrin

LookItsMeAgain · 27/10/2021 13:39

I'd say that's a "Doyouthinktheysaurus-coming Rex" type of dinosaur (for the price if nothing else.
There are nicer ones on Etsy OP:

Not going to lie, I was tempted by the broccoli as it was just so bizarre 😂

My boys would bloody love this. Dinosaurs and bumholes. What else could you need?!

ErrolTheDragon · 27/10/2021 13:46

The really odd thing is that as far as I can see (filtering to see just green baubles) , they don't have a sprout. Though I suppose you could pretend this 'field cabbage' is a rather sickly one.

SoupDragon · 27/10/2021 13:52

They have a "make your own felt sprout bauble" kit but that's it. Apart from sprout fairy lights (which are just green circles in Santa hats rather than actual sprouts)

cuttlefishgame · 27/10/2021 14:04

I need to go to John Lewis now - I have to see these things in person.

DingDingTriangle · 27/10/2021 19:15

I'm surprised no one has raved about the wonderful selection of Christmas baubles that Paperchase do... Sushi anyone? Or some dairylea dunkers? Hmm definitely worth a look if you don't go for a traditional theme...
