Can you give me some gift ideas for the woman who has everything ?

It's a significant birthday coming up. Budget of maybe a couple of grand maximum.

She has all the tech she needs, all the perfume, candles, cashmere, jewellery. No to experiences or spas. No to just giving it to charity which I'm sure someone will come up with but without going into detail, it's a well deserved gift

But I'm stuck. Any suggestions?

Gold? (I'm practical.)

Years ago, before the Internet was a thing, I turned up at Santa Maria Novella (Florence being my last stop before the flight home) only to find it closed. Hmm

(But at least they have a shop in London.)

If she loves reading, the Daunts' book subscription is amazing - a different beautifully wrapped book every month tailored to your tastes. You can exchange anything that you don't like.

I use old apothecary bottles for storage in my bathroom. The bottles in the link are lovely but seem overpriced so I would look around. I paid £10-£20 per jar from Central London antique shops/fairs.

Are u her partner OP?

BatFinksWings · 05/10/2021 19:21

Thank you all - some great suggestions here

Nope - I'm not her partner.

Alas no to the NT membership. Let's just say she isn't outdoorsy in this way Grin

6 or 8 best quality silk pillow cases. (Don't buy white)

BatFinksWings · 05/10/2021 19:27

Already has silk pillow cases. And copper ones. We are talking someone who really does have most luxury things you can think of

Antique Apothecary drawers are on the list. A Victorian carboy. A first edition Enid Blyton. A night in the mandarin oriental. These have all made the grade and I wouldn't have thought about them without you all.

I have far from ‘everything’, but I’m picky.

Books, wine (biodynamic, red) fractions of an orchard, or a trip, are the things that would make my heart sing. (Perfectly chosen, of course …)

pinkgin85 · 05/10/2021 19:55

Her own perfume? It's not Jo Malone is it? Wink

BatFinksWings · 05/10/2021 20:23

@pinkgin85 I couldn't possibly say! Wink
