Is the Harry Potter studio tour worth the £? If not, what is?

My DD's birthday is coming up (11) and she's HP obsessed. Just interested if anyone has been and to get opinions please?

We all loved it too. Even non potter fan DH. Well worth the price.

I'm usually a bit of a cheapskate when it comes to these sort of v expensive attractions, but I'd say this was definitely worth the cost. Think 11 is perfect age too.

Go,it's worth every penny for a Potter fan and one of my favourite places

I went (deluxe ticket) for my 30th. Absolutely brilliant! Plus you get to skip all the queues and the staff come round and talk to you all day. Great for a super fan!

We went last week and it was amazing, if spendy. The DC are still raving about how good it was. I'm not a massive fan but I've read all the books & seen most of the films. It was still fascinating.

Beware of the gigantic gifts shop at the end - SO much expensive twt to buy!

@Stumpedasatree

Thanks all!! So expensive - why can't they do deals?!
Simply because they've sold out every session months in advance.

Original plan was for it to become a general Leavesden film studio tour, with stuff from everything they film there.
Currently filming GOT prequels.

But so far the HP love hasn't died off.

Totally worth it. There's so much to see and do. It always takes us a whole day, not the 3 hours or so the website says. And although they say the cafe is about half way, all the best stuff for kids is before the cafe. I'd recommend taking your time for the first part, and taking drinks and snacks so you're not having to rush the best bit to get to the cafe for hungry kids. You can take a packed lunch; the food at the cafe isn't that great.

There's a couple of parts where you can spend more money for extras (video of riding on a broom, the dementors attacking the train) but I never felt like there was any pressure to buy - you can do the riding on a broom and then decide not to buy the video. And there's still lots of free interactive stuff that you can take your own photo of for free (or staff will take a photo for you) like making the broom go up, wand school, the giant at the table. You can quite easily spend the whole day there not buying anything else apart from the tickets to get in.
