Free-standing baths in bedrooms. Wrong in so many ways.

Looking at some hotels for a weekend away. Who on earth thinks that having a bath in a bedroom is a good idea? Is it some sort of romantic ideal, like a bubble bath advert?

As a big fan of wallowing in the bath, I like to do it in the bathroom, on my own. Not when my DH is lying on the bed watching the TV in front of me.
Bedrooms for beds, bathrooms for baths!

Also hate fee standing baths in general - so impractical, nowhere to put your soap/glass of wine/phone, dripping on the carpet when you get out. Crap all round IMO

what style bath is this? I've only ever been in free standing or fitted baths that have tiny corners so wouldn't fit a glass of wine safely on.

I’m with @Mrsjayy

I think my child would love it, and I'd prefer it because I could sit down properly while I supervised.

I also don’t understand these.

I mean, nothing shouts romantic like DP watching me contort my body into all sort of positions to get an optimal shave.

Stayed at a hotel with DH in Gran Canaria where the entire bathroom was a glass cube in middle of room - shower, toilet etc - no idea it was like this before we booked - recall saying to DH thank god I came here with you and not on a girls weekend - no frosting, privacy panel or anything - seriously did not like it

When did going to the toilet become a spectator event these room designers need a word with themselves clear cube bathrooms Shock

Oh i| love them!
We have a large bath at home and it's big enough for us both and the taps are on the wall along the middle so no-one gets the 'tap' end.

Over the years we've taken a lot of luxurious baths together, with really nice products etc.

If there's a free standing one in a hotel room we'd always use it.

In my dream bedroom there's an open fire and a free standing bath! (and someone else to clean them and have them ready for use!!)

Those glass type bathroom walls are literally the stuff of my nightmares!
