Since your January birthday.

What are you buying?

No candles, dd1's already earmarked one for me for Christmas.

No craft stuff as I already have several projects on the go (although I'm easily persuaded to try new stuff...)

No smellies, notebooks, or pens. I'm trying my best to use up what I have already!

Definitely not garden stuff, I do bare minimum out there to keep it tidy & keep the bird feeders topped up.

I thought about a tea pot and some nice tea maybe, if anyone's knowledgeable about these things? I do like to sit in silence with a cuppa, very first thing in a morning, before anyone else is up.

& before anyone jumps in with "it's spending for the sake of it", it may well be but it's my money & I'd like to spend it on something for me; someone here may suggest something that's not occurred to me :)

A night alone in a Premier Inn plus breakfast! If you book well ahead and a week night or Sunday night, it's very cheap. There may be enough for a cheap takeaway too. Bliss.

Hmm it's a tough one.
Firstly I am very much in awe of you hanging on to it since January. 😁
If you fancy skincare, I can thoroughly recommend Beauty Pie. Gorgeous products that give great results for a fraction of the price you'd pay from other brands. But you still get the swish packaging and lovely formulations.
The only other brand I'd happily spend a lot of money on is Medi8. A British brand with a great ethos whose products are science based and really do work.
Alternatively, I would spend it on cashmere. Be it jumper, cardigan or accessories such as a hat and scarf. Yes you might have to save another £25 plus- but it depends where you go. There's a gorgeous, belted cardigan on the H&M site that's been in and out of my basket so many times it must be dizzy. Yes it's £50 and it might be a blend actually but it's very nice and they have a few 100% cashmere items - an oversized jumper for one, that also looks gorgeous. It will last for years if you take care of it.
The other thing I really want - is a Polaroid camera. I am done with having all my photos on my phone, on different social media platforms etc and fancy capturing the moment and being able to put it on display for myself.
Failing that, I might spend it on an event, a train ticket somewhere, a day out, a meal etc.
Or you see if you can stretch it out till next January; but it has to be all gone by your actual birthday and you can only spend a couple of quid a week but it has to be on things you consider a treat: so flowers (supermarket prices obviously), cup of good coffee, magazine, chocolate, nice shampoo or bath oil etc.
Just enjoy it!!!! X

New underwear !

Cupoteap · 18/09/2021 19:33

I mean a nice matching set!

Strugglingtodomybest · 18/09/2021 19:37

I'd treat myself to a sauna pod and massage and use the leftover £10 to buy a book and some fudge.

HaggisTheGreat · 18/09/2021 19:37

I’d go out for a nice lunch or two - just me and a book. Or a couple of theatre trips. Or pay for membership of a local art gallery and go to all the exhibitions for a year.

HairyScaryMonster · 18/09/2021 19:41

Snuggly blanket, some proper nice chocolates or some new winter boots

Mol1628 · 18/09/2021 19:42

I would get a new piercing. Or nice new jewellery for a piercing I already have!

YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie · 18/09/2021 19:44

Agree with cashmere socks. If you’re after tea, the loose leaf stuff from Whittards has made me a complete convert, I no longer buy tea bags. The Earl grey is beautiful, and they have lots of fruit teas too. Never had a dud pack. I don’t know when it comes into stock, but their Christmas hot chocolate is my favourite too, I buy up about 10 tons at a time and eke it out through the year Blush

YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie · 18/09/2021 19:45

Tins! But tons about covers it too Grin

WisestIsShe · 18/09/2021 19:45

If I wasn't desperate for anything I'd save it for the m&s beauty advent calendar, usually £40 with a £25 spend.

SciFiScream · 18/09/2021 19:50

You need to get yourself on Etsy. There's loads of things I have "loved" there that is buy myself in a heartbeat.

Or a couple of pairs of empowerment pants by MissMsMrs. They are like superhero pants plus they do good.

Or I'd top up my LendWithCare account and make a few loans. (Can with draw the money too if you like!)

I've got my eye on a graphic novel (Star Trek) for my iPad. It's £25. Way more than I'd normally spend.

Books, music. Fun with friends.

dizzygirl1 · 18/09/2021 19:51

A velvetiser from hotel chocolate on offer for £65 at the moment, something I'd love but just can't justify for me 🤣🤣

AuntieMarys · 18/09/2021 19:52

2 bottles of gin

TwooThirty · 18/09/2021 19:53

A teapot (or nice cup) and tea sounds perfect. I had a chocolate and tea advent calendar from a local specialist place near me and found a brand new favourite loose leaf tea from it. I also have fancy gold spoons to make the ‘having a cup of tea experience’ even poncier nicer.

WithMyEncyclopedia · 18/09/2021 19:57

6 months Spotify premium
A particular posh make-up item I want
Loads of books
Put it towards a fancy meal out

Katshouldnotswim · 18/09/2021 19:57

sofakingcool · 18/09/2021 20:00

@dizzygirl1 , where are they on offer please?
sofakingcool · 18/09/2021 20:00

Sorry dizzy, you've been tagged twice for the same question! Blush

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 18/09/2021 20:05

If it were me I’d spend it on something lovely I’d use most days and as the colder months are coming my picks would be

Perfume a lovely rich wintery one
A lovely dressing gown or bathrobe
Cosy blanket for the sofa
A really warm goes with everything scarf
Sheepskin insoles

BayandBlonde · 18/09/2021 20:06

Towards some shoes / boots, but in reality my horses take all my cash so would probably go on hay and shavings Grin

lilacdinosaur · 18/09/2021 20:10

Some nice underwear, makeup or some new boots for winter

InnPain · 18/09/2021 20:14

I second what @HungryHippo11 said

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 18/09/2021 20:14

Clothes. A nice jumper.
