Absolutely horrifying that women's rights are being trampled on again. The U.S.A. is going backwards in denying women the right to choose what to do with their own bodies.

@TSSDNCOP It varies by state, but looking at my nearest clinic (2 hours away in Illinois) it's $600 for a D&C. There is some financial support available but often it's restricted to being a resident of a state, or it's extremely stretched and slow to be allocated.

There is a wonderful network on Reddit (r/auntienetwork) of people who will drive women to appointments, but with the distance people will need to travel support will be even harder to find.

I've seen a few posts on miscarriage and how that can be seen in these States so I'm linking a policy briefing below. It's an issue that terrifies me as we have had 3 miscarriages (now 32 weeks, thankfully) in a state that will likely follow Texas.

The most immediate fear is a loss of care options and less doctors willing to risk being able to perform D&C and D&E procedures because of additional liability issues. However, there are also concerns over liability for miscarriage- e.g. if the expectant person is involved in substance abuse or another risky activity.

In Mexico, you can buy abortion-inducing drugs on the black market or in pharmacies.
(I know this from my travelling days, not personally but from a friend). However, this will be where any care ends, so basically these laws mean women will die, and most likely they will be poorer and less educated women.
