Please talk to me about long, warm, waterproof, high quality winter coats

Hello.

I'm fed up with having winter coats which last a couple of years and fall apart. I'm willing to spend up to about £250, I think, for a really good one which might last me many many years. I need it to be warm, waterproof and long (at least to the knee), with a good big hood and good big pockets. I'd also like it to be not hideous, but fashion isn't my main focus here. If it's of relevance, I'm 5'7" and a size 8-10.

Any ideas of the best places to look for this kind of coat? I'm getting overwhelmed with ads when I Google...

I have a north face brooklyn parka and it is waterproof and v warm but i wish i hadnt bought it in black. Wish id bought it in olive/khaki. Im looking on the landsend site. I had one years ago and it was SO warm. Loved it.

Bought a Hobbs coat, Heather, in the sale last March for all the outdoor meet-ups pre restrictions easing. I'm 5ft 9 and it goes past my knees, padded, waterproof with a brilliant hood.

It is really worth investing in North Face in my opinion. They are properly waterproof and warm. I have had mine for ten years now.

I agree with this.

Does anyone have a Didriksons coat that is only listed as water resistant and can tell
me whether it still withstands rain well? The fully waterproof ones are more expensive but I don't want to waste my money.

Another Didrikson fan here. I would say they are made tall though I'm 5 11 and its perfect.
