Which has made me feel weirdly content! What have you done today to make you feel like this? I could do with a few different, new tasks to add to my list Smile

PS found a chile con carne at the bottom so now I don't need to cook tomorrow. Hurrah for small wins!

Ooh, I must tackle our chest freezer tomorrow. I know there are loads of eggs in there, but the rest is a mystery. We could do with a couple of weeks of living out of it instead of shopping.

This weekend I hoovered, dusted and tidied the whole house, cleaned the bejesus out of the kitchen, scrubbed the bathrooms, potted up some cuttings of string-of-hearts and clematis, threw out some other cuttings that weren't doing anything, scrubbed all the indoor windowsills, did 6 loads of washing, rounded up all the stray empty pots in the garden to dry tomorrow and put away tomorrow evening, chopped the excess stems and roots off my nicely dried onion and garlic harvest and put them all in net bags for winter storage, chose paint colours for every room in the house, washed the front door and helped DH tidy the utility room.

Today DH washed out the chicken feed bins, all the feeders and waters, and all the plastic storage boxes from the utility room, moved a load of haybales that were in the way, tidied some branches that we had put in the chicken coop for them to roost on but they didn't like them, and I don't know what else, but he'll still out there, working, even though it's nearly dark.

I don't know what's going on with us but long may it last...

I’ve made a list 👍

Defrosting and stock taking the freezer is on the list ( though I think most of the “ stock’ should really be in the food waste bin ) so finding a meal would be a bonus

@Chicchicchicchiclana I have the same banisters , equally satisfying to clean them , and annoying when a week later they’re grubby again

I also ( it’s been an exhausting day ) watered , applied baby bio , wiped leaves and cut the dead looking leaves off my house plants

I love an inspiring task thread! Managed to get through four loads of washing today as I had such a backlog thanks to rain over the last few days. Also hoovered under the bed while the kids were in the bath. Going wipe the fridge out before I go to bed.

Like the sound of that tuna crunch sandwich filling as used to enjoy that at Greggs. What do you add to it?

Got loads done despite being hungover. In town for shops opening running errands. Got back to finish packing for our hopeful move out of our house this week and did lots of runs to the storage lock up. Filled in holes in walls and took down wardrobes.

@Geamhradh I used one of those long thin brushes to get in as far as I could then I used my hairdryer to make a huge dust cloud get the last bits out.

I read the papers and Mumsnetted while DH cleared out the shed.

It turns out that over 7 years Coke kind of disappears. The cans were unopened but varied from half full to empty when I opened them. I wasn't quite brave enough to try any contents.

I name labelled PFB’s new school uniform for starting reception whilst marvelling how long her legs are when I’m sure she was a baby just last week.
Freezer stock take and wrote September’s meal plan.
Checked diary for all the things that are happening this week.
Towel wash.
Ordered a load of splosh stuff.
Harvested onions and blackberries from the garden.
I love a peaceful Sunday of family time and getting set up for the week ahead.

SnarkyBag · 23/08/2021 00:04

Just filled my chest freezer with batch cooking so no cooking for me for the next 6 weeks. I love open it up and just looking at it all sat there stacked and labelled Blush

This thread has inspired me … I’m tackling my freezer today . I can’t wait Grin

I did the freezer! I have 21 dinners worth of meat in there. And enough bread for about 3 weeks. Plus various vegetables. The shopping is going to be fairly cheap for the next while Grin

I decided to try doing the Organised Mum routine this week. Made out a personalised version of it to cover our combination of rooms. Then got up this morning, did everything on the list before I sat down to WFH, then sat down and realised I had done Tuesday instead of Monday Grin Still, it got done, I can do Monday tomorrow instead, and it felt amazing to have achieved so much first thing in the morning. Also I love that I can notice things that need doing around the house, but say 'no, thats on the list for thursday, I don't need to worry about it now'. It's very freeing.

I just rang the bank and sorted out our wrong address and forgotten credit card PIN issues, and got the kids to get their pencils cases ready for going back to school on Thursday. I'm going to sit down and make a meal plan for the next month now. I think being productive might be addictive.

@Geamhradh I have always wanted to know how to clean radiators too so I went on You Tube. Guess what I am doing today. Grin
