SAHMs what will you do the first week your kids are back at school?!

A little over 2 weeks left of what's been a pretty hardcore summer school holidays. We haven't been abroad and we've endured a really crappy UK summer.

The first day mine go back, after the school run, I'm going to come home, change back in to my pyjamas and have a nap.

The rest of the first week will follow a similar pattern but I may enjoy a cup of tea and read the newspaper or a book in peace and quiet. I don't want to talk to anyone, or listen to anything, I just want to enjoy the quiet.

Mine are still preschoolers so only at preschool till lunchtime but every minute counts!

Indulge me with what you'll be doing when the kids are back at school...!

@user64325 The OP's question isn't relevant to you though is it? It asked if you are a SAHM, what will you do the first week they are back at school, when you clearly home ed not send them to school.
I am a sahm and my children are educated like anyone else’s. I think you missed my point that is “back in education” for my dc.

I will start properly training the puppy, and do some studying for the course I’m starting the day before DS goes back. Time to myself, to hear myself think! Will be a luxury indeed 😊

I'm going to spend the first day on the sofa watching all the TV I haven't been able to watch over the summer Blush Maybe sew on some Beaver/Cub/Scout badges so it looks like I've done something!

Then volunteering the next day, then will have a couple of days cleaning & decluttering. Maybe meet friends for coffee. Then work on Friday.

Ooh, and maybe have a lunch date & 'catch-up' (ahem) with DH, who is studying from home & not yet back to lectures Blush

I'm so jealous. I'd bloody love to be a SAHM with kids at school Envy

I'll have Fridays to myself until Christmas for the first time ever! My littlest is first full day in reception on Fri 17th it's in my calendar as freedom Day! Planning a decent clothes shop as not really bought anything for 2 years and my t-shirts are looking v tired. Then arranged to see some friends I never see.

I’m off to the cinema on Friday
Decorating downstairs loo and running are on my list but today I’m swimming in the lido

Sit in complete silence for a few hours on the first day then start to clean the house properly room by room. Can’t wait Smile

Are you me? Because that's exactly what I've been doing 😂😂

I'm enjoying the peace, not being wanted for the first time in 7 and a half years, getting jobs done uninterrupted.. doing things for me (driving lessons etc)
I'll be getting a job soonish as need the money but until then I will get everything done that's been waiting and enjoy not being needed by anyone!

Still got kids home. Haven’t yet got them places in their new schools since moving. We are at least enjoying the weather and quiet park and beaches but I’m frigging knackered. I’ll still have the 3 year old home when they go to school but looking forward to the routine of toddler groups and hopefully pre school if a place ever comes up!
