I have the TV to myself tonight. I'm miserable and need cheering up. What should I watch?

Disclaimer: I don't really do cinema (I can't think of a single film I've watched five times).

Back to the Future - all three if you have time (these do get up to four Grin)
Outrageous Fortune
Valiant - animated from 2005
What we did on our holiday
Grease (sorry)
Logan Lucky ("Ah Am Incar-Ceray-Ted")
Paddington 2, boviously
Their Finest

Pete's dragon, how can you not sing along?!?! Watched it once while off school sick, watched it thousands of times since and love it just as much. Has to be the original version though.

Took my son to see What We Did On Our Holiday with his best friend.. Had no idea what was going to happen. Poor DS was distraught by the end as he found his Dad when he had died and couldn't wake him up. We walked out at the end and he looked at me and said "I didn't like that very much!!" 😔 😔 😔

Just seen Summer of Soul which is on Disney+ I think. It's lovely.

plinkplinkfizzer · 20/08/2021 23:16

Thank you to everyone on here who recommended Pride. I just watched it with DH and we both LOVED it. Lots of laughter snd tears. One of the best films ever.

Am back here to pick up more recommendations now! 🍿 🎥 💕

@AlbertBridge I saw it when it first came out. I cried my eyes out at the credits.

AlbertBridge · 28/08/2021 11:59

@EmmaGrundyForPM Me too. Actually I started properly crying when I saw the words on the banner in the window of the coach (trying not to do spoilers!) and then I just kept crying. With an extra hard wail at the last line.
