I have the TV to myself tonight. I'm miserable and need cheering up. What should I watch?

Helen Hanff is one of my heroines and wrote my old MN name 84 Charing Cross Road.
Loved that book. There's a film with Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins which is good. Your post reminded me of Crossing Delancey which is another comfort film.

1FootInTheRave · 20/08/2021 18:16

Mamma mia and mamma mia 2.

The goonies.

Needawayout · 20/08/2021 18:51

An old one but still love it - the cutting edge. Followed for laughs by blades of glory (which takes the complete piss out of it !)

But will happily watch

Four Weddings and a funeral

White chicks! Or the hangover. Or American pie 🤣

AttaGirrrrl · 20/08/2021 19:10

Coyote Ugly is my ‘go to’ for drinking wine and wallowing. Such a perfect film for that.

Cool Runnings, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, also rank highly.
