If that temp is accurate call an ambulance

Gladioli23 · 08/08/2021 23:14

What temperature do you get for you with the same thermometer?

Starjammer · 08/08/2021 23:15

I would be at least calling 111 immediately. How is he in himself? Is he awake and alert?

Yes just quickly test yourself to make sure the thermometer isn't faulty then seek assistance, maybe 111 in the first instance.

Hope he's much better very soon.

DinosaurOfFire · 08/08/2021 23:16

Where are you taking his temp? As I understand it, the most accurate is under the tongue but not suitable for tiny ones, then under the arm but it can be up to a degree or so lower than their actual body temp. Does he feel hot to the touch? Or cold and clammy? And is the thermometer accurate- if you take your temperature, is yours in a normal range, as once yhe battery starts to go the temp shows as wildly inaccurate.

Lou573 · 08/08/2021 23:16

Can you rouse him?

genome · 08/08/2021 23:16

It can be a sign of sepsis, I would be speaking medical advice ASAP.

Lemonlady22 · 08/08/2021 23:16

Call an ambulance, I'm a nurse, low temp can actually be very serious especially in young children

Squicknick · 08/08/2021 23:17

Check the thermometer on yourself. Call 111. Take care

BertieBotts · 08/08/2021 23:17

A&E if the thermometer is correct. Cold but sweating is a sign of sepsis.

THATmamaofMANY · 08/08/2021 23:17

Id be seeking medical advice op

Whirlywooo · 08/08/2021 23:18

That temp is classed as hypothermia in a baby. I'd skip 111 and phone 999

MyGrassIsBrowner · 08/08/2021 23:18

PLEASE get some medical advice now OP.

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 08/08/2021 23:18

Well a temperature that low is classed as hyperthermia! I’m guessing he hasn’t been doing anything to get himself extremely cold?

I’d check the thermometer on myself. Has he been well in himself today?

THATmamaofMANY · 08/08/2021 23:19

Has he had a covid test as you say he has had a cough and temp?

tiredanddangerous · 08/08/2021 23:20

Call 999 now

Kittii · 08/08/2021 23:20

If that temp is correct I would call 999

Icanflyhigh · 08/08/2021 23:59

999, that temp is low assuming its accurate and thermometer working properly.
Hope all is OK x

Gladioli23 · 09/08/2021 11:11

@Flc123 - I wondered if your little one was okay this morning? It must have been a stressful night for you, and I hope everything is alright.

Flc123 · 09/08/2021 12:11

Hey thankyou everyone I called 111 I managed to get his temp to 36, he’s off to see the doctor today x

Gladioli23 · 09/08/2021 18:21

Glad they were able to help you and his temperature came up a bit! Hope the doctors were helpful today :) it's so scary with little ones!

Dizzywizz · 09/08/2021 20:52

How did he get on at the dr today @Flc123?

Seiheiki · 10/08/2021 01:00

Really hope that little one has improved.

Flc123 · 11/08/2021 09:15

Hey soo they said to just keep an eye on him! But his temp is still not going over 36? 36 is better but he’s still not going above that heat, not overly sure what to do

Hey, I know this is an old thread, but just wanted to ask what happened with your little one? My little girl is 4 and I’m experiencing the same thing. She had a very high fever for a week, and it was a struggle to keep it down, now she has a low fever and we are now trying to keep her warm. X
