What are you pondering about right now?

I'll start: I'm wondering that if I could know the future instead of the past would I swap?
How would that even work in terms of everything I've learnt? What if I was able to pick a few things I'd want to carry on knowing like skills, languages, how to swim, who's been nice or nasty to me etc ?

Whether I should split up with my boyfriend or not
Do it now before you get more enmeshed.

How my parents seem weaker and older suddenly. Sad

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 05/08/2021 19:47

and now I'm wondering if people ever use the phrase "grassy knoll" unless they are talking about JFK's assassination.

or if they ever use "scrupulously clean" unless talking about whisking egg whites

How I manage the feelings I’ve had about friendships in the passed that have come in to focus in quite a strange way in this last week. I feel a bit strung out out by it and I do t know why.

cakeseeker · 05/08/2021 19:57

@abstractzebra you could keep the Fitbit in your bra instead?

Maverick66 · 05/08/2021 20:05

How can you tell who’s won the Omnium until the commentator tells you?

MrsCremuel · 05/08/2021 20:11

How to spend less money

Chicchicchicchiclana · 05/08/2021 20:15

Always in the back of my mind, never far from my thoughts, is how my brother's serious mental health problems has split apart our whole family and how will it ever be resolved. Sorry if that's a downer but it's always bubbling away just under the surface.

dementedma · 05/08/2021 20:20

How can I lose weight and cut down my drinking ( obviously related)

TawnyPippit · 05/08/2021 20:22

I had an interview yesterday and I am revisiting some of my answers. Not in a good way. I’ve actually come up with one quite good response but its about 30 hours too late. Hmmm.

BastardMonkfish · 05/08/2021 20:25

@sociallydistained

Why I’m so bloody itchy!! (15 weeks pregnant today)
Speak to the midwife about that!
notanothergoodname · 05/08/2021 20:28

How I feel about my husband going on a date with another women tomorrow night (he doesn't know I know about this).

ShowerOfShite · 05/08/2021 20:29

I'm wondering if I've got food poisoning from the awful takeaway I've just had. Had stuffed some in before I realised it smelt funny Envy

Someaddedsugar · 05/08/2021 20:31

@sociallydistained is the itching persistent? If it is please speak your midwife as it could be cholestasis

Someaddedsugar · 05/08/2021 20:31

@lucysmam

How the fuck to find a new job. I have no qualifications past GCSE, very little experience besides bar work & being a dinner lady (& temp TA), & literally got my current job because a previous HT at work offered me the job on the school yard. No spare cash to re-train either. & my last 3 temp contracts at work haven't lead to anything further - others have been taken on instead of me even though I keep applying there, and elsewhere 🤷‍♀️🤯

Atm, I've hit a brick wall & burying my head in crochet projects, sorting 2x secondary uniforms, & prep for returning to Rainbows and Guides next month.

Your local council should have some sort of team that helps people into work. Your library is likely to be able to tell you about this. Get in touch with them. They may have an employment project which helps people in work to gain qualifications to move to a different line of work (or progress in their current job). They are likely to pay for you to do those qualifications. They will also help you to think through what you want to do and help with job search and interview skills. There are lots of different employment projects and they tend to be funded for a few years so it is always worth checking back each year even if there is nothing now.
SwanShaped · 05/08/2021 20:34

When we’re going to stop routinely testing people with covid symptoms. Months, years, never?

lucysmam · 05/08/2021 20:39

@notanothergoodname I didn't know any of that! Thank you very much for the info, I will do some googling and give my local council a ring tomorrow morning.

IndieTara · 05/08/2021 20:41

Will my new wardrobe and chest of drawers show up at 9pm as promised. After waiting In all day and finally contacting them at 4pm and being told 'there's a problem with the van we'll deliver tomorrow'
I firmly told them that didn't work for me and I needed them today.
They said they'd be here at 9pm
I'm not so sure

IndieTara · 05/08/2021 20:43

@ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba my best friend is the only person I know who uses the phrase scrupulously clean and quite often too

Ipanemama · 05/08/2021 20:50

@notanothergoodname Flowers I’m sure you’re too good for him. What a dickhead.

Should we move from lovely house/amazing school but meh location to unknown rental/school in new exciting country. It’s now or in 5 years when youngest dc finishes GCSE’s.
