Whenever we go away on a city break or holiday we always have to get a room for us (me and Husband) and then a seperate room for our 5 yo. (As in adjoining). A few friends have said they shade rooms and tha5 were precious doing this. Just wanted to know what others think?

I think they're pissed off they never thought of it themselves!

Most of my friends did the all in one room job because that's the results you usually get on the search etc.

When I've said oh you can do this, or they say nightmare kids tired etc. And I say - try this!

They are always Shock.

I genuinely think in the UK it's a total norm and parents just accept that's how it's done iyswim!

If you were ’snobby’, you would not have asked. It’s not a big thing.

How would you define snobby?

Wheresmybiscuit3 · 04/08/2021 00:56

I prefer a separate room for the kids... we usually don’t because of the price it adds though!

When booking a holiday abroad I’d always make sure the hotel/apartment/whatever had a separate sleeping area for my 5 year old. Wether that be a second bedroom or living room with bed type set up. For a city break we’d tend to stay in premier inn/travel lodge so we’d be in one room but only for 1 or 2 nights. Any longer and we’d look into a different type of hotel with separate sleeping areas. Not sure how I’d feel about interconnecting rooms, feels different but I don’t know why!

Adjoining rooms are great if you can afford them. We all need time/space to ourselves now and then.
