I really really love Crocs

I know, they are not for everybody, but I live in my pink clogs. They bring out the inner child in me and I feel nice wearing them. I do everything in them but I only have this one pair and would dearly love a new funky pair. I have been given permission to buy some using my partner's card and believe me it is burning a hole in my hand - but the damn things are very expensive and I feel slightly guilty.. only very slightly mind :)
Does anyone else who has my passion for foot fashion know of any outlets where I can buy them a bit cheaper than the Croc site?
Thank you

My other half got me some of the cheapy ones with the fleece lining in for slippers but you can’t take the bastard fleecy bit out so they stink now!

Stick them in the washing machine, 30 wash. Be fine.

MeredithMae · 04/08/2021 13:21

Good choice OP, white are very 'in' right now!

I'm obsessed with mine. I have black ones with a few jibbitz, and yes I wear them outside the house. With socks on too!

crazycatgal · 04/08/2021 17:18

I bought a black pair of crocs a couple of weeks ago, best decision I ever made! Grin

Definitely looking at buying some more.

Is there a big used-croc mountain somewhere? Like the butter mountain?

yoursfroobly · 04/08/2021 17:28

Can someone please explain to me exactly HOW they are comfortable? I've never put my foot in one but I just can't imagine them being comfy. Slabs of rubber plastic that you walk around on... are they squishy? Don't your feet sweat? Would your heels dry out and crack?! So many questions!!!

SingingInTheShithouse · 04/08/2021 17:30

I can't bring myself to wear the clogs... yet,

But oh I love my sparkly crocs wedged flip flops so much. I wear them in & out of the house 😆

OhGiveUp · 04/08/2021 20:18

@Yoursfroobly They mould to the shape of your foot as you wear them, this makes them very comfortable, it's like they're tailor made for your foot after a few wears.
For long periods of being on my feet I wear plain black work clogs, they're the ones without the holes. So comfortable and no aching legs or back.

OhGiveUp · 04/08/2021 20:20

No, they're not squishy. No your feet don't sweat and no you don't have dry or cracked heels.
Due to them being rubber, they're naturally antiseptic too.

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 04/08/2021 20:29

I bought a light pink version of these once. They were comfy but.....they made my feet sweat and then I made farting noises when I walked around! I couldn't blame it on the dog in my classroom!!!!

I have some with fleecy insoles for the winter, also a couple of pairs for the garden and a couple for in the caravan. They are all very comfy

Try this place, got mine for £22.99 or something Smile

EffOrf · 04/08/2021 20:38

I take the fleecy insoles out to wash, they just unclip.

YawningAngel · 04/08/2021 21:09

I got a pair of sandals and a pair of flip flops from the Crocs website for £36 total. If you sign up to their mailing list you get a 10% discount, and I scoured the sales bit to find a couple of pairs I liked.

I too LOVE crocs. Not the clogs, although they look comfy, but a pair of Mary Jane style ones. I had that pair for about 15 years, but had to replace them when I wore the treads away completely so the bottom was totally flat. After about the 20th near death incident with wet shoes on decking/tiles, I sadly consigned them to the bin.
I also have a lovely pair of black and white wedge heel sliders that have a really sixties vibe, but I don't think they make that style any more.

Kenworthington · 04/08/2021 21:19

I love my crocs too. I have a pink pair for in the garden then my ‘smart’ crocs with crystal/marble effect/ cosmic kind of jibbitz. I wear them out! Sometimes with socks, sometimes not. Everyone in my house has them. Ds is 18, his are huge silver grey ones, dh has navy ones, dd is 16 and has pink ones with peach jibbitz and a pair of lilac platform ones. They are trendy, comfy and practical.

Bargebill19 · 04/08/2021 21:19

I know I’m totally unreasonable - but I use my old ones as flower pot holders. Just mail them through the heel to a fence post or make a loop of string thorough a hole in the heel/sole to hang them up. Then plant them up with something trailing - lobelia/geraniums etc.

OhGiveUp · 04/08/2021 21:45

@Stayingaliveisawayoflife I've found that with a couple of pairs of mine, just wear ankle height pop sock type of socks. Problem solved. I have the same pair. 🙂
@YawningAngel I have the same Mary Jane, around the same age. I've just replaced them with the same, but I can't bear to part with my old ones, even though there's no tread left and I've superglued the heel on. 😂

gaggiagirl · 04/08/2021 22:16

I absolutely adore crocs. So comfortable I've walked full days around Rome in mine and they have been amazing. I wore a pair of baby blue clogs for years.
My sandals are crocs and I get so many compliments on them. Then I tell people they are crocs and they are pleasantly surprised.

AlanThePig · 04/08/2021 22:42

In the genuine ones yes, most of the croc off ones are fixed liners so you need to wash the whole shoe on a low wash.

Really? Oooh I’ll give this a try thank you! They definitely don’t I flip, which is probably why they’re 1/4 of the price Grin
EffOrf · 05/08/2021 07:50

I managed to pick up my genuine furry crocs in Next clearance years ago for about a tenner, in fact I don't think I have paid more that £20 for any of them. They do sometimes go very cheap on Amazon, I got my black holeless ones from there for £9.

Maggiesgirl · 05/08/2021 08:28

I've got all sorts if Crocs, not so keen on the original ones, but love the ballerina type, I have 3 different ones. I also bought the Chelsea Boot ones last winter. They are brilliant. I have the Neria Pro sort as well ( they are fully enclosed so don't let water in if you walk through puddles in the winter.

AppleJane · 05/08/2021 08:49

Crocs are excellent for bad backs. And you see a lot of medical staff wearing them. They're easy to keep clean.

I laughed at the 'sports mode' comment, very true!!

Before knocking them, buy a cheap pair and wear them round the house and then you'll 'get' why people love them.

I second sports direct for discounts.

GiantKitten · 05/08/2021 12:53

@Babymamamama

There were some adults ones in TK Maxx round my way yesterday. Granted they were bright pink but maybe other stores have other options? Are they really that comfy- I don’t think I could get over the ugly factor Grin.
@Babymamamama

Very very comfy!
(Though can feel a bit claggy on hot days)
I use them all year round as slippers - with socks in cold weather obv - they are so useful, can go outside in all weathers and sluice any muck off under the tap Smile
I love them. Reading this thread with interest looking for discounts as they are a silly price without Hmm
