My toddler is obsessed with Cocomelon.

Anyone else find it incredibly irritating?

The dad...I have no words.

Yes the PC changes are quite amusing. One I've noticed is on the Wheels on the Bus they've changed what the daddies on the bus say from "Quiet that noise" as I recall it was, to "I love you".

firstimemamma · 02/08/2021 22:02

The mum and dad are one thing but what about the nursery teacher? She's on a whole other level.

Harvey3 · 02/08/2021 22:05

That second comment!! So funny!!

JustLoveYourselfALittle · 02/08/2021 22:05

I prefer it to little baby bum.
But my dd who's 3 recently discovered little angels when watching about dinosaurs on YouTube . She said it's baby stuff but fun to watch.
So often when they're having chill time and i need tk get stuff done. she's watching that on YouTube and ds 18m watching cocomelon.
Pure torture.

JustLoveYourselfALittle · 02/08/2021 22:08

My 9 Yr old Dsd will also be found glued to cocomelon at times when its on. But when we say is that good, she's like no! Despite so going along for half hour when she thinks we can't hear lol

TableFlowerss · 02/08/2021 22:17

I thought it was a new food.

Camomila · 02/08/2021 22:18

Cocomelon made me cry one day Blush
First the generational apple tree and then the little girl who couldn't skip but then she could...it was just so heartwarming.

I think I must not have had much sleep the night before Confused

Albgo · 02/08/2021 22:38

@pinkgin85

Thank fully my toddler hates coco melon, but we listen to a lot of little baby bum instead Grin
Bleugh. I can't stand baby bum. It's so drippy.
Bivvy · 02/08/2021 22:40

My baby girl is obsessed with Cocomelon and JJ. I often find that she’s gone for a nap yet I’m somehow still sat watching the sodding thing hours later. I know all the words, and find myself randomly singing them…in an American accent!

My baby recently had a visit from ‘JJ’ for her birthday (massive character suit type thing- pic below if it loads) and he looked demented. It was rather frightening, his eyes were big and transfixed like a demon and he kept falling over small obstacles in the garden like a massive drunken 7ft baby! Several crying traumatized kids. God knows what the neighbours thought

Cocomelon
PatMustardsBigTool · 02/08/2021 22:49

@Susannahmoody

Least your kid hasn't yet transitioned to Diana...
Oh god I know. My DD is a mini Diana and tried to rope me into being Roma when she's playing 😫 Worst of all I have their Christmas song constantly in my head 🤯
PatMustardsBigTool · 02/08/2021 22:53

I recommend the wiggles, although I'm sure lots of people probably can't stand them either 😂 I love them!

bumblenbean · 02/08/2021 22:53

It’s completely soul destroying. Luckily my two are just about growing out of it now (though I now have peppa to contend with Hmm) but over lockdown 1 it was basically on constantly for sheer survival - so it also reminds me of a pretty depressing time…

My particular hatreds were the band playing one, the first day at school and the playground one. Oh god and the vegetables one … DS used to mimic it so when he didn’t want to eat something it would be ‘no, no, no I don’t want it, EW!’

@Bivvy that’s brilliant 🤣 although why is the baby the size of an extremely large man?! How did he see out of the costume? Did he mimic the voice?! So many questions!

Cam2020 · 03/08/2021 07:16

The Cocomelon days are over in this house, but the trauma lives on #Skidamirink

mackthepony · 16/05/2022 23:30

Yeah it's bad

Let's face it

StuckInTheMiddleOfNowhere · 16/05/2022 23:56

Its like crack for kids

Honestly Google why its so addictive. I didnt know till recently. Its to do with the screen image changing every 3 odd seconds.

HaveringWavering · 17/05/2022 00:06

Aw, I think Skidamarink is a lovely song! It’s not a Cocomelon original, been around for a long time.
Also my son is now nearly 6 and mostly just watches Mr StampyCat these days, but we still sing the
”Do you like broccoli? Yes I do” weird food combinations song for a laugh.

fluffyrainbowllama · 17/05/2022 00:06

Yes!
Cocomelon, bing and peppa pig no longer work on our telly....

HaveringWavering · 17/05/2022 00:08

I also like Peppa Pig, the humour is very clever.

Refrosty · 17/05/2022 00:31

I like cocomelon. Some of the songs are absolute trash but I do love:

  • the ant and grasshopper song-
  • their version of 3 little pigs is quite enjoyable (the blow your house down)
  • the one where the sister learns to ride her bike
  • 'lets all count sheep...'
  • the tae Kwon do song is cool
  • the career song 'yes you can'
  • the one where it's a stormy night and the parent sing to the kids that they are safe

(Yeah I obviously can't recall the songs much as my son has outgrown it... But I stand by my opinion, Cocomelon is sweet)

FabulousKilljoys · 17/05/2022 00:47

Luckily toddler watched a bit of cocomelon and gave it a thumbs down, it's Super Simple Songs that plays on repeat in my house. Ayples and banaynays ffs.
Not to mention the ever grinning guitar playing Catie and puppet Tobee. And Pink Fong. Current favourite is the I Hate Cucumber song.

FabulousKilljoys · 17/05/2022 00:47

Ffs zombie thread!!!

Never heard of it but did quite the double take when I thought this was on the Baby Names board Grin

Same Grin

LeeMucklowesCurtains · 17/05/2022 13:46

I co sleep with a toy baby JJ.

Well, I co sleep with my 20 month toddler who insists JJ sleeps on my face. She moves him back on my face everytime she stirs.

That thing gets taken everywhere with us.

I don’t mind cocomelon. She loves the songs and trying to sing along.

We get a lot of “yay yay yay” and “no no no”, anyway!

User48751490 · 17/05/2022 13:48

Babybus. There's a good one.
