My toddler is obsessed with Cocomelon.

Anyone else find it incredibly irritating?

I'd take Peppa or Masha or even Pinkfong over Cocomelon!

The one where he wants a big boy bed is the worst. Especially when he helps construct the bastard thing. Ugh.

Also the fruit popsicles thing. Who the fuck has time to make that?! My children get a splash of vimto into one of those homemade ice lolly things, job done. Coco Melon, you've taken it too far

Just realised after reading through this thread that it's been a while (quite a few months) since my DS has chosen to watch Cocomelon. He's just turned 4. Some hope for you all that they do grow out of it! However, we are now staring at Vlad and Nikita after a busy day at nursery! At least the awful songs appear to have been left behind (fingers crossed!!!)

Ah ha ha at PP - DD1 6.5 has just rediscovered it, after going off it aged 2.5.

Yes Down By The Bay is a traditional song. The version by Raffi is much better and probably on YouTube somewhere.

There is an identical programme called super JoJo and I can't work out who copied who ....

I hate it, but it was the only thing that calmed DS down when he woke up from a nap during a long drive home from visiting family. Half an hour of Baa Baa Black Sheep on a loop…

Can't believe Cbeebies bought the rights to it! I hate it, my 2 year old daughter loves it though.
All of the adult characters move/ look like they're heavily medicated.

It is highly irritating but it's the only thing 2yo DS will actually sit and watch, so it saves my sanity on a daily basis! It's on so much here that DS1 and 2 call each other Nico and JJ

Oh and DD is Miss Appleberry!

It's so ghastly my revulsion at it has gone all the way round and turned into a bizarre Stockholm Syndrome-like obsession with it.

The one where the mum wears a pink shirt with white hearts, and the dad a white shirt with pink hearts, and they smile lovingly into each others eyes as they sing and tidy up the unholy mess their children have visited upon their home - wow, just wow.

DD 2.5 is obsessed with it. She got to the point where she would scream the house down when it came to turning it off so it only gets put on very occasionally now. As others have said the gender stereotypes really annoy me and the tunes are so repetitive - DD often makes up her own words whilst doing other things as the tunes are suck in her head.

another vote for Rafi's Down By the Bay- look it up on spotify his stuff is actually quite tuneful.

DD is 7. She still watches all this stuff. Seven fucking years of it. I know AND HATE every single video mentioned in this thread. Aaaaaaaaaaargh.

DD loves it, we hate it so Cocomelon, Peppa Pig and Bing have all gone on holiday and they haven’t come back…. I’m thinking it is a “Lost” type situation….

I'm certain the reason it's so popular with parents over other channels is because it changes all the old, scary, dodgy lyric nursery rhymes (ie. most of them) to be sugary and politically correct. And extends things with new verses. No one nowadays wants to hear their tiny child recite three blind mice or black birds baked in a pie, like other channels blandly recite. Cocomelon's Baa Baa all colours of the rainbow Sheep is genius

I gave birth to dc2 listening to cocomelon (only downside of a home birth is a toddler dictating the sound track). You'd think that would give me fond memories, but I bloody hate it! I used to wake up singing the tunes in the middle of the night.

Although now it's been replaced by bloody Blippi so......

I should hate it but my ASD 3yo DD has actually picked up so much language from it it holds a tiny place in my heart..

I used to think I hated it but now my DS has moved on to Blippi and I pine for JJ.

I keep trying to put paw patrol on but Blippi and his bastard visits to soft play rule the remote.

Luckily my cocomelon days are over however DD4 has now moved onto watching shouty/screechy American children and their families on YouTube. We have Aliyah's reborn world (Australian) Adley and then the fucking Gomez's where the mother spends more time talking into the camera about her own mundane stuff, like why would 4 year olds want to hear her talk about where's she's doing her food shop, or she likes to film the children when they are ill. Literally recording them for the vlog while they puke. And they are millionaires from it. Fucking ridiculous but DD loves it 😭
