Which is completely unremarkable I suppose but...this time last year we were told he had cancer and is was most likely a cancer that would claim his life within 12 months even with chemo. In November, after surgery, he was told chemo would do little to help and he had six months to live. Last week we were told his tumours have shrunk by a third which has amazed his oncologist so today we are celebrating the fact he's here to need new shoes.

What lovely news xx

How wonderful! If I'm remembering correctly, your dh had the same type of cancer and operation as my father. My father lived for 35 years after his diagnosis. I hope you both have many years together Flowers.

That's a great way to celebrate, to be able to walk many more miles now.

Thank you all, it seems so trivial but so huge too.

We were originally told pancreatic cancer but after his Whipple's surgery we were told the biopsy showed cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) which has a 7% chance of survival at 5 years and 0% if there is a spread, sadly as they were closing up after removing half of his insides they found a spread in his liver so the fact he is still here annoying me is truly wonderful.
