Kathy Burke. What a woman!

A lot of common sense there.Just watching her on the money programme that was on channel 4. I wish she was my friend, and we could go to the pub, and put the world to rights. Anyone else? Or any other really inspirational women who haven't sold out? She's brill. I luffs her.

But I was surprised no one else noticed or seemed to care about whether that particular point is or is not correct. I was not even sure so checked. If you are making a biological point I think it is important to get facts correct. Don't want to derail the thread for those who do enjoy Kathy Burke so won't add any more.

Love Kathy Burke. Don't always agree with her, do agree that her mouth sometimes runs away with her but, she comes across as a warm and generous person. Great director as well. Long may she live and prosper.

As for TWAW, in my opinion (and perhaps hers, who knows?) I've no issue with that statement when it applies to actual legitimate Trans-Women. I know a couple of TW who've lived quietly that way for decades before all the recent furore. Men who throw a wig on for an ulterior motive, be that to get into women's spaces, push their own agenda or antagonise, are neither Women OR Trans-Women.

As for Kathy, I'm sure she is no better or worse than most people, she has her biases like we all do. I never understand why people look to celebrities for moral guidance. They are no different than the rest of us.

This. I still like her, and she hates Bojo, so swings and roundabouts.

And yes, I don't agree with everything even DH believes, but there are no deal-breakers. If everybody was exactly the same as me they'd be a bit weird the world would be a vair dull place.

I'm with you on the penis etc., but men and women usually have exactly the same number of ribs! 12 pairs is the norm for both sexes. Where did the idea that men have extra come from?

Always liked Kathy Burke. As for knowing that she's pissing off a certain MN cohort by being pro-trans...well, that just makes her even better. So glad someone pointed it out, that's another one to support now - following the lines of brands/people like Lush, Elliot Page, Daniel Radcliffe, Innocent etc.

I couldn't disagree more. I dont care what the question is, woman be silent is never the answer. If KB's stance on TW comes from fear, I'll listen to what she says about it. In the meantime I will accept that that is her opinion.

@Warmduscher, I think you have conflated two different posts here. I addressed trappedsincesundaymorn's initial post that as well as different genitals men have an extra rib. This did not seem correct to me so I made a cursory Google search and several sources confirmed that both males and females usually have 24 ribs in 2x12 formation. I posted this information at 16.39.

The sentence you have quoted came from my response to the answer from trappedsincesundaymorn that the other information about male biology is still correct. My response was as below:
