Please can I just rant about my neighbour

Having moved to a rural position partly to escape a vile neighbour I have now got myself a neighbour who has more machinery than toolstation. Angle grinders, mini diggers, chain saws, professional standard strimmer and pressure washer with a huge petrol engine you name it he has it.

Just as summer starts he has decided to terrace his entire 2 acre garden himself with his mini digger. He has lived there 30 years and we have had the whole of fucking lockdown but no, he has to do it now.

The noise us horrendous. He has only done about 12 feet and he's on his shitting digger 8 hours a day. I can hear it in the house and of course in the garden where I would like to sit out at last. I have my headphones on full blast but can still hear the bastard thing.

I know there is nothing I can do so I am just ranting. What are your neighbours up to?

Currently sitting in my daughters bedroom with the windows shut to get the furthest away I can from the industrial sized speakers they have blasting out the shittiest of shit “music” they can find. And then SHOUTING OVER THE BASTARD SPEAKERS BECAUSE THEY CANT HEAR ANYTHING BECAUSE THE “MUSIC” IS TOOOOOOOO LOUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

…hate them.

My neighbour watches us doing mundane activities in our garden from his bathroom window, while shaving his head. He looks like the Pale Man from Pans Labyrinth. I don't have anything nice to say about him due to past shitty behaviour on his part

Holy shit!

Normally, I like the sound of kids playing, but the neighbouring kids (teenage boys) SQUEAL all the time. It’s quite bizarre. They leave the yappy dog out a lot too, but tbh, they’re the best neighbours ever, super considerate. If they know we’re in the garden, they are virtually silent. I love living next to them. I went and floated in the hot tub earlier to cool down/chill, it was silent.

I don’t understand people complaining about noisy hot tubs, is ours weird that you can’t hear it? The noisiest thing in our garden is the pond which aerates itself via a 3 step mini waterfall. We don’t make noise, at the max, we eat outside with elderly neighbour from the other side.

My neighbour is having an extension built, progress has been ok but to speed things up he is doing some stuff himself. Every decent day/evening he's out there drilling, sawing, hammering, grinding and then power washing. All to the accompaniment of his choice of music and tuneless singing.

I have noise cancelling headphones which I wear if I want to sit out, but honestly since he moved in there's always been some noisy project, or something to cut down and burn. I actually prefer the noise to the asthma inducing smoky bonfires he used to have.

My neighbour spent four hours today doing something with a very loud compressor. I was fit to kill.

My nearest neighbours from a few different families have been up since about 3am singing the same little song over and over again, all their children join in now too. Chirp, chirp, chirp, coo-coo-coo, coo-coo-coo, and let's not get started on the performance sex screams from the foxes in the nearby woods.

My human neighbours are lovely with cute little preschoolers who are in and out of each other's gardens.

Eurgh I feel for you!! I have recently moved away from my horrendous noisy neighbours! My garden is joined by 5 other gardens but so far no problem! I feel your pain of machinery though!

endofthelinefinally · 18/07/2021 07:16

My neighbours have chiidren that scream constantly and a dog that barks constantly. It is very wearing. The dog is a lockdown dog. They have no intention of training it, they pay a dog walker to take it out and put it in the (small) garden most of the time. I have given up sitting in my own garden for now.

Our neighbour’s hot tub emits a constant hum, so even when it’s otherwise quiet outside, we can hear it. We’ve gotten used to that though. However, when they switch the jets on it’s like a light aircraft taking off. Then, of course, they have to shout at each other over the top of the noise. To be fair, I think they realised that using the jets at night was selfish and they don’t seem to do that any more.

The hot tub is at the end of their garden, so it must be much worse for the people behind them whose house is right next to the fence. I often wonder if they complained about the jets being used at night.

I'm just recovering from an operation and DH is working shifts that start at 7 so we went to bed at 10.30 and then were annoyed when next doors 19 year old started a loud party in the garden with some shouty mates at 11pm, it went on till about 1am.

lotsofchooksnducks · 18/07/2021 11:24

@memberofthewedding

My neighbours are vile entitled bastards but at least they are not noisy. Theyve played a few dirty tricks on me.

Sometimes I "entertain" them at 2-4 am with an app of cats fighting that I have on my phone - right under their bedroom window.

I dont have a cat but there are plenty in the neighbourhood! So it much have been someone elses cats.

Genius!
Movinghouseatlast · 18/07/2021 12:43

Well, he's back on his shitting digger. It is SO loud, the whole house is vibrating. The horrible grating noise when he moves it around is just bloody awful. He has some other huge machine today which he is alternating with the digger.

Why couldn't he have done this when the weather was grey a few weeks ago???!!! He doesn't work as he is very wealthy.

The 'shitting digger' makes me laugh every time

Corner neighbour started playing with his £1400 second hand drone last night. It's like the Gucci of drones
I don't know what he's trying to see - we live in an estate. The police have been and threatened that his license will not be approved

Bastard neighbours are having a gender reveal party for their daughter who's an even bigger bastard. I'm hoping the streamers attached to the fence catch the open flamed bbq they've got going on. Or something flammable. Pricks

Bargebill19 · 18/07/2021 14:29

@Movinghouseatlast just don’t go whistling Bob the builder - apparently that’s a recordable offence now😳
(Although very funny IMO)
