Djokovic for me :). I like Berrettini too but long term Novak fan. I know he’s not that popular but I met him once (not at a tennis event) and he was nice to me and especially to one of my dc.

@Onehotmess

Novak 100%. I don’t know why people don’t like him? It’s weird
This. He seems like a really nice guy from what people who have met him say.

I don't know anyone who likes him and lots of my family and friends are tennis fans.

I think he comes across as very arrogant and I also believe he has cheated on his wife.

also believe he has cheated on his wife.

Source? 🙄

He is not a nice person.

I worked for the ATP in a previous life. When people are ‘observing’ he tries to be Mr Nice Guy. He has a terrible temper, very prickly about not being loved in the way Rafa and Roger are.

He did cheat on his wife, it came out at Wimbledon a few years ago and he was knocked out, said he had to focus on “some family issues’.
She has also become a shadow of her former self since they married.

He is an anti vaxxer. He organised a tournament in Serbia at the height of the pandemic which became a super spreader event. He was pictured with his shirt off dancing and hugging other players in a night club, with no masks or social distancing.

He is a Grade A wanker, fake from head to toe.

@ScienceSensibility yes, I've heard similar.

Ugh god. I just knew it

Interesting.

He seemed completely in control yesterday.

Heard similar stories too. Have also been close by to all 3 "off duty" various times and seen how they interact with fans and others. Roger and Rafa will stop for every fan who asks, smile, autograph, photo and polite chat even when you can tell they are needing to get somewhere. Novak will look at you like a piece of dirt on his shoe if he is not in the right mood and just say no. But perhaps he is learning from his past mistakes as regards treating fans badly.

ScienceSensibility · 01/08/2021 19:51

Well, well.

Anyone watching Djokovic’ conduct in his Olympic matches can be left in no doubt of his character.
He should have been defaulted just for the racquet smash which scared the ball kid half to death.

Injury excuses incoming in 5,4,3,2,1....

LobotomisedIceSkatingFan · 01/08/2021 20:30

Yep. Not much evidence of that 'complete control' yesterday. Nut sack.
