I’ve got endometriosis I’m in so much pain I’m about to have a bath and hope my morphine kicks in so I can get some sleep before work tomorrow

Hi ArabellaStrange,
We are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when we see a concerning post such as yours we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources.
You can also go to the Samaritans website, or email them on [email protected]. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters on this thread, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.

We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

Sending love.

?? The poster hasn’t said anything about being suicidal or depressed or not coping? Just talking about realities of chronic pain. Are you sure you meant post that mumsnet??

Saladcrab · 07/07/2021 13:11

Feeling so lightheaded meds are making me all spaced out I’m exhausted and feeling in so much pain. Will be getting a very late lunch today due to something being out of everyone’s control I’m back in tomorrow but at this rate I’m going to need a sick day I had two naps yesterday as I couldn’t keep my eyes open not sure how I’m going to make it through this afternoon already had a coke to help and eaten loads About to eat my lunch at the desk but I really need some fresh air and can’t leave until my actual lunch break

Gilead · 07/07/2021 14:03

Trying to decide what to do. Unable to walk since yesterday. Don’t know if it’s arthritis or something else but cannot weight bear, both hips fell as though they’re on fire! Funnily enough we were going wheelchair shopping today as I can’t walk far anyway, but now I’m struggling to get to the loo!

RicherThanYew · 07/07/2021 18:24

Does anyone know if arabella is ok?

RicherThanYew · 07/07/2021 18:26

@Gilead have you considered a mobility scooter for outdoors? I know it won't help indoors (unless your house is huge) but it has made the difference between my son being picked up from school and me falling (again) and being in hospital Hmm I use a wheelchair/wall surfing in the house and the wheelchair does help :)

Gilead · 07/07/2021 18:47

@RicherThanYew, we were going to have a look to see which was better for my needs. It’s difficult because my hips can lock if sat in the wrong position!

iwouldlikearefundonmybody · 07/07/2021 20:40

Yup. I have. Really not coping with the amount of appointments at the moment and feel like I have no life. What's even worse, I feel, like I have nothing to talk about with people, because I'm always at the hospital or dealing with pain. Sad
Sending hugs 🤗 BiscuitThanks

ArabellaStrange · 07/07/2021 23:40

I took lots of pregablin over 700mgs and some amitriptyline.
Passed out but am still here.
Have not told anyone in real life..
It's pointless, every thing I am coping with can't be helped, there is no support or help for my situation.
Not just the fibromyalgia and bipolar but lots of other shit too.
Thank you guys for being worried.
I guess I am struggling right now but there is literally nothing that can be done..
Tried a go fund me for the legal fees I would need to pay. Not one single donation.
So totally fucked really.

Nat6999 · 07/07/2021 23:50

ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, Motor Neuropathy, Arthritis, I've been having muscle spasms in my stomach, my core strength is rubbish after being sat down for 18 months & now my stomach muscles spasm if I lean forward, my feet have been the same, it bloody hurts & there isn't a painkiller for it.

Namechange600 · 08/07/2021 00:02

@ArabellaStrange I am sorry you are in a difficult place. Please reach out for help. I have a myriad of chronic health conditions plus some serious stress on top and it is so overwhelming. Please seek help xxx

OnTheBenchOfDoom · 08/07/2021 07:21

@Saladcrab how are you feeling today?

To everyone else on here, it is just totally shit when you know that all they can do is "manage" your symptoms not cure the cause and sometimes it just gets progressively worse through the years.

I just have endo but I was fortunate enough to be able to quit work and Dh was completely supportive. My health improved dramatically. I wouldn't have even described my life as stressful at that point, I was working part time and had Ds1 but it was good. But now I crash out every day due to fatigue which fucks up holidays, weekends away even days out, but hey people just see it as being lucky to be able to "nap" in the day like somehow I wake up refreshed. Nope.

I alternate between a TENs machine and a heat pad for the pain which is because I feel like I am in labour every month. Also hot baths and then codeine when it is really bad although I am a space cadet after just one tablet. I am lucky that the children are old enough to look after themselves and also me on really bad days if Dh isn't here.

@ArabellaStrange I cannot even imagine the difficult place you are in right now. How are you doing today?

Saladcrab · 08/07/2021 07:40

I feel awful I woke up feeling sick exhausted and in so much pain I’m just going to get through today as best I can

OP posts:
ArabellaStrange · 08/07/2021 15:38

Better but still a total mess.
Partner doesn't get how tired I am or how much pain I actually suffer.
He'll be like well I am tried too and in pain. And then thirty minutes later will be grabbing my boobs and trying to get me into bed. Which suggests to me that he is not tired or in pain to the degree that I am.
He is a huge mess as a person but so am I and I thought may be our messiness would kind of work as we can sympathise. I worry a lot about him dying so that isn't very helpful.. Anyway brain is full of cotton wool and circular saw across the road is making my wrists ache.
Does anyone else get noise related pain, it's really quite unbearable. Place I live now is quieter than the last place but still get DIY/building work/car alarms and they are all bad for my pain levels. Can't wear sound defenders in the day, my job is a lot of phone work.
Oh well at least I work from home now, have no idea how I used to manage commuting.
@Saladcrab it sucks it really really does.

OnTheBenchOfDoom · 08/07/2021 15:41

@Saladcrab I am so sorry that you are still feeling awful. Do you feel you have anywhere to turn for help with it? ie GP or gynaecologist? Any roads left untravelled yet?

OnTheBenchOfDoom · 08/07/2021 15:47

@ArabellaStrange I have just seen your message. Even a messed up person shouldn't be in pain competition with you or trying to get you into bed for anything other than sleep. Sad

I don't have the noise/pain thing but can understand why it would increase stress which in turn can increase symptoms.

My sister has ME/CFS and even before covid could work from home 2-3 days a week so she didn't have to commute in. She has a lot of adjustments at work, they have been really good to her even giving her a permanent desk instead of hot desking so she is nearer the toilets/kitchen for less walking. They are in a huge open plan office.

Malachi72 · 08/07/2021 15:48

What's the rectal temp when you are warm from that ?

Saladcrab · 08/07/2021 16:41

@Saladcrab have you got a Tens machine, is a god send when my neck and my back are kicking off.
Also have you got the money to try and get acupuncture done? I know it isn't science based but when I was pregnant with ds, after dd, I had it when the PGP/SPD kicked in and was fine on that front for the rest of the pregnancy.
Also google acupressure points, you or someone else who is close to you can use them and one point on my arm has been very helpful with my neck as well.
Can't believe I managed to work today suspect I will be asleep very early.

BelterDelta · 08/07/2021 20:38

Come over to the Chronic Pain section within the Health part. Flowers Lots of support there xx
