Your favourite ABBA and Blondie songs ?

ABBA, in no particular order: SOS, Knowing Me, Knowing You and Super Trouper. I didn't like ST when it first charted but it's grown on me over the last forty years.

Blondie, again no particular order: Call Me, Heart Of Glass, Sunday Girl.

I have a vinyl single of ABBA before they were called ABBA - they just went by their forenames at the time. It's the original version of 'Ring, Ring', sung in Swedish.

Strange mixing of genres. A bit like what's your favourite Sex Pistols and Abba and Blondie singles of 1979? Was it Friggin' in the Riggin', Chiquitita or Heart of Glass?

I appreciate them all now I am old but my teenage self would not be able to tolerate ABBA and Blondie being mentioned in the same breath

I discovered this very early version of Heart of Glass today.

Chiquitita - ABBA
Always Touched = Blondie. I'm surprised no-one else has mentioned this one. I love most Blondie songs but this one is by far my favourite.

Most of the songs on Parallel Lines. That album was my reward for passing my 11 plus!

Blondie - not a massive fan, but I do like Call Me

For ABBA, I like Knowing Me, Knowing You and The Winner Takes It All (but definitely NOT sung by Merryl Steep!). I love Chess and I think both songs are show a more towards a more musical-esque sound.

Again most of their catalogue. Was lucky enough to see Debbie Harry live & she rocked!

As KOKO says above, not many folks would have liked both ABBA and Blondie when they were at the peak of their power back in the 70's.

I definitely loved them both but probably just kept quiet about Abba once Blondie appeared.

Some folk appear reluctant to admit to liking ABBA back in the day. I get that Blondie had the appeal of post-punk edginess but, as Sunday Girl proved, they were as capable as ABBA of producing pure pop singles.
