Do medical professionals ever 'enjoy' an intimate examination?

Really wasn't sure which topic to put this in.

I have had a pelvic examination recently, I of course felt exposed and a little bit awkward, but it is what it is.
The doctor was examining to see how much pain I was in. I was offered a chaperone but refused as the less people the better.

I assume as a medical professional you have pretty much seen it all, and when you're at work you see things through a very scientific/medical way.

But at the end of the day, people are only human. If you are doing an examination of a person you might normally find attractive, would they ever enjoy it or have to focus to not be turned on/think about it afterwards? (Male or female)

No we don't. I have stuck my finger up probably 100+ bums. It is my job and I get on with it. I would always have a chaperone and all my colleagues would too. I wouldn't give the patient the choice. No chaperone, no exam.

Do they ever? I suppose some do. I suppose some take advantage too. Next time request a female and take a chaperone who you trust.

Of course some do. Every profession has some rotten eggs!

I had an internal exam by a male G.P no chaperone was there, I think he asked if I wanted one but who wants even more people on the room. Admittedly it was about 20 years ago.

@Carbara
I, for one, would most definitely speak to a journalist.
Strangely enough, they stay away from stories like this because they don’t want to run the risk of printing stories that could end up in libel hearings.
Pervs..? Well, they don’t know who we are, so if they get off on descriptions of abuse, they’ll be getting it from anywhere and everywhere.
It’s no reason not to talk about this

I fit coils, dilapan and take swabs
All day long
I must ... look , assess and feel the anatomy
I take no sexual pleasure in this at all
It's my job and I am a professional
However ... gut instinct should often not be ignored

Are you saying a fellow medical student of yours was delusional and thought her GP was coming on to her and reported it?
How do you know her GP wasn’t coming on to her?[/quote]
Not medical student, HCP student. And I imagine the chaperone would have had something to say if the male GP had been 'coming onto her! The student didn't report it, she just told other students. She appeared quite pleased about it.

She (the student) sadly was delusional. She had badly medicated ( she stopped taking her lithium) bi-polar.

This all came to light after the suicide attempt. She left the college after that (and the area, thus GP).
