Just as the title says really, what magazine's do you read.

I uses to love reading a magazine but whenever I now go to a shop that sells them I can never decide what to get so don't buy any. I'm 32.

None these days because I always feel like they’re obscenely expensive for the very limited amount of reading content there is. Too much advertising! When I was in my early 20’s it was Cosmo or Grazia though.

Fyredraca · 17/06/2021 10:31

Private Eye.
I don't bother with "women's magazines" anymore because they are just like expensive shopping catalogues.

Closer is my guilty pleasure

I love in Spain and I'm retired. I've always loved magazines, mainly knitting and crafts but also Good Housekeeping etc. I subscribe to Readly for £7.99 a month. You get literally hundreds of mags and newspapers on the day of issue. I read alsorts and you can have up to 3 different readers. Really good value.

MinnieMountain · 17/06/2021 10:45

The Week, for the same reasons as @Fyredraca.

Although I have just unsubscribed and re-subscribed to make it cheaper after they put up the cost of my subscription Angry

LindaEllen · 17/06/2021 10:51

I like the real life story mags like Pick Me Up. What I like the most is how sensationalist the headlines are on the front, and how little they often match with the actual story!

I used to love Cosmo as well, and I am partial to psychologies magazine but I do have to be in the mood for that one.

AliceSprings123 · 17/06/2021 10:55

Private Eye by subscription. Also bought a subscription for the family in the USA. Think it's SO important they keep up with the important stuff that's going on here WinkGrin

Boscoforever · 17/06/2021 11:27

25 Beautiful Homes, love it.

Seiheiki · 17/06/2021 11:30

For everyone saying about cost, look at an app called Readily. Hundreds of current magazines on there for a tiny subscription fee. Environmentally friendly too.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 17/06/2021 11:46

I have a simple things subscription. It’s the only one I read.

geogteach · 17/06/2021 16:19

You can get loads for free on the library ap

RusholmeRuffian · 17/06/2021 16:28

Private Eye and When Saturday Comes

Muddydoor · 17/06/2021 17:23

The Economist. A lovely birthday present from my Mum. I see you did a grocer’s apostrophe in your title and OP.

speakout · 17/06/2021 17:26

None. Unless I am flying out for a 2 week beach holiday. Then I will buy rubbish.

HardStareBear · 17/06/2021 17:35

Coast & National Geographic Traveller. They have lovely photography and allow me to dream about my ideal life once I've retired! Women's magazines make me seethe, these days. Full of over-priced, consumerist shite and the same 'celebs' on the cover time after time.

CommunistLegoBloc · 17/06/2021 17:37

What is your point?
elp30 · 17/06/2021 17:38

I love magazines.
I've always thought the UK has always made them so beautifully and for a while, after I moved to the US, I kept a few of them up. But it became expensive so I stopped the subscriptions.

However, I discovered my library here in Texas has 2200 titles free to download for two weeks at a time and I'm in heaven!

I am in my 50's now so I do enjoy magazines like Harper's Bazaar, BBC History or BBC Good Food, Countryfile, Wanderlust or Lonely Planet, or special craft/interior design, The Economist, The New Yorker but I still love to read the mindless stuff like Take a Break.

35andThriving · 18/06/2021 13:21

Once in a blue moon, I'll get a copy of Pick Me Up

Landslidelife · 18/06/2021 13:27

Have you got prime membership? I read magazines on kindle app, download them free. There's different ones every month, good mix of genre so there's always something I can choose.

80Days · 18/06/2021 13:34

The only magazines I regularly buy are TV guides.

My local library does, however, have an app that allows library users to borrow emagazines for free.

Jocasta2018 · 18/06/2021 13:39

I subscribe to Private Eye.
My mother subscribes to Saga magazine & it's a great read!

CrikeyMatron · 18/06/2021 13:53

Viz.

Mincepiesallyearround · 18/06/2021 13:55

Currently economist and private eye on subscription but a while ago we were given a National geog annual subscription for a year and that was great. Looking at subscribing to a cooking and recipes magazine called Olive.

pigglepot · 18/06/2021 13:58

I read Red and House & Garden
