You can post multiple times but there must be at least one post in between.

On our way to the undisclosed idyllic spot in Yorkshire. It's like a magical mystery tour! The mini bus looks so pretty too. I'm more than a bit jealous that my wedding wasn't as cool as this but exh wasn't into 'all that crap..' so we just had registry office and a reception at my in-laws pub. It was lovely but as an alternative/pagan type I'd have loved something like this!!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 19/06/2021 13:23

sounds love Kurt!

UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa · 19/06/2021 13:28

Sure!

@UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa

I really need to go to sleep at a decent time tonight, but I have a feeling we'll be really close to 1000 and I won't be able to sleep until we've made it. Posting now to get us closer. Smile
I’ll do my best during the day and to help us have sensible bedtimes!

bloody phone

UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa · 19/06/2021 13:33

"Sure!" was for Zing wanting to call me "Salsa". You're more polite than I am. I just went for the nickname without asking.

@Igmum

It's Terry Pratchett *@ElGuardiandenoche*. Among his many, many brilliant books are a series about the Ankh Morpork Night Watch (there's a book of that name but this particular series starts with Guards Guards). Those are the names of some of the watch, but there are many more Grin
As a Pratchett fan myself I love the series but I have to admit I forgot Carrot, so thank you very much for reminding me.
BakeOffRewatch · 19/06/2021 13:44

I need to start on Terry Pratchett books, it’s one of those things I know loads of quotes from but never read

ElGuardiandenoche · 19/06/2021 13:48

@BakeOffRewatch, you really do need to read them, they are fantabulous. Also read Good Omens the collaboration he did with Neil Gaiman, it’s perfect.

PurpleyBlue · 19/06/2021 13:48

Mort is my favourite Terry Pratchett book.

OH IT IS IS IT?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 19/06/2021 13:49

Which Terry Pratchett book should I start with? I’m one of those who likes to do things the “right” way and then never end up starting as I try to figure out how to go about it!

ElGuardiandenoche · 19/06/2021 14:09

I really must get round to watch this, though I am really not sure of it

BakeOffRewatch · 19/06/2021 14:10

I’m really surprised how long it’s taking to fill up this thread but then I tend to lurk on active

ElGuardiandenoche · 19/06/2021 14:12

@BakeOffRewatch, start with The Colour of Magic

“In the beginning there was…a turtle.”

BakeOffRewatch · 19/06/2021 14:12

Thank you @ElGuardiandenoche!

DH (Prattchet fan) says there are a few answers.
  1. "The Colour of Magic" -- first in Discworld series, but he doesn't hit his stride until about 4-5 books in.
  1. The Amazing Morris and His Educated Rodents

The We Free MMent

I was so sad when they didn’t include this in the Good Omens series and just used it as a promotional thing as it’s so funny. Also that they missed out the Four Other Horsemen of the Apocalypse ☹️

PurpleyBlue · 19/06/2021 14:22

Oh yes it takes a few books for it to really get going. I struggled with the ones near the end as they are quite a hefty size!

UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa · 19/06/2021 14:22
  1. The We Free Men

I’ll take @ElGuardiandenoche’s answer otherwise I won’t do it. Will purchase pm kindle and after this thread is done will start reading it. I had planned to read lots on mat leave but it’s easier to just pick up iPad and read fora

UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa · 19/06/2021 14:34

@PurpleyBlue In the early days of dating, I had to have a minor procedure (but it did involve general anaesthetic). DH brought me Mort and said, "It's a book about Death."
