I think that ruler is in inches not cm so no need to convert. Bet your DH is pleased with the way you convert inches Grin

PurpleDaisies · 11/06/2021 11:51

@XiCi

A 700ml of gin couldn't possibly measure 5 or 6 inches HoppSuisse. That's the size of a miniature.
You’ve got your units wrong, not HoppSuisee That ruler is definitely in cm.
idontlikealdi · 11/06/2021 12:11

The ruler is in cm. 2.5cm to an inch therefore 5cm.

Still really not a huge amount to be hanging on.

Sakura7 · 11/06/2021 12:15

Yeah XiCi you have it wrong, that ruler is in cm.

XiCi · 11/06/2021 12:55

5 inches is tiny. I have a miniature bottle here that's 4.5 inches tall. And about 20 gin bottles 70cl that are 11-12 inches tall. It's not possible for 70cl to fit in a 5 inch bottle

If it’s short and fat it will You need to go back and read the post again. The measurement was to the bottle shoulder.

I think you need to go and find an actual ruler. I don’t think you’re picturing the height correctly.

PurpleDaisies · 11/06/2021 12:59

Here is a picture showing a 6in ruler with 6in corresponding to 15cm. This matches exactly with the image of the Hendricks bottle earlier being about 5 or 6 inches.

Right OK. Bit pointless since your missing a chunk of the bottle there. Thankfully none of the bottles I have are filled to the shoulder or they'd be going back Grin

My 6o clock gin came filled to the shoulder. That’s where the 70cl of gin came up to. I don’t think it matters as long as the right amount of gin is supplied.
XiCi · 11/06/2021 13:07

Yes PurpleDaisies true Smile

HoppSuisse · 11/06/2021 13:09

To the top of the BS bottle, its 24cm. But most of the gin is in the first 16cm - 5.2 inches. See here again with 30cm ruler, and a 40ml miniture added for comparison Grin Gin

Cleverpolly3 · 11/06/2021 13:12

I can do this with Rock Rose, City of London and Gordon’s if it will help 😂

I love what this thread has become Grin

The measurements stuff might be my fault. If I cba would measure various bottles and prove the theory with actual measures.

But if 70cl is divided by 6 inch is equals 23.3 something per inch which is 46.6cl which I have no idea how much is due to the several cls I have already had.

PurpleDaisies · 11/06/2021 19:34

70/6 = 11.6cl per inch, not 23.3. That’s about 230mls of gin per inch which fits with my experimental data.

PurpleDaisies · 11/06/2021 19:35

Sorry, missed a “2”!

This should say:

70/6 = 11.6cl per inch, not 23.3. That’s about 230mls of gin per 2 inches which fits with my experimental data.

Iceniii · 14/06/2021 07:34

All interesting but what I want to know is has anyone mind over mattered a hangover away? Yoga breathed it away? Had 3 doubles last night and feel dire.

Iceniii · 14/06/2021 08:40

How do people get through the day hungover? Painkillers not working.

Theweedonkeeey · 14/06/2021 08:47

A cold irn bru, a fish finger sandwich and ice lollies will provide some comfort but if you really want to perk up then hair of the dog! Have a glass of wine or beer with lunch

Hullish · 14/06/2021 09:40

I've discovered a magic drink that makes it feel rather better. Not completely but I dont feel so dreadful.

Frozen strawberries, lots of water, ice, lots of fresh mint, maple syrup, lemon juice, pince of salt, blend.

I had something similar on Saturday. Fresh frozen smoothie. Think it was kale, mango, cucumber, lots of fresh mint. I do agree a hair of the dog is the best though. A lager shandy always does the trick. Unless is a horrific one, then only sleep will do
LesRosiers · 14/06/2021 10:31

@EastWellowBride

2 inches is a lot of gin!
Well it depends on the shape of the bottle surely. 2" from a bottle of Caorunn is a lot, but 2" from a tall thin bottle would be much less.
