If its not a takeaway obviously..
I always have copious amounts of tinned tuna and pasta in the house so it's almost always tuna pasta!

have you been living in a cave?

Pesto pasta, or egg / beans on toast.

Not very imaginative, I know....

Tonight is the night. Raided freezer and pantry to make chilli, served with freezer garlic bread for spouse and by itself for me.

Clydie89 · 04/06/2021 20:44

Lentil daal /dahl as always have lentils and coconut milk or Tinned tomatoes and spices, then any leftover or freezer veg!

Learningtofeminist · 04/06/2021 20:47

Chop up a few mushrooms, fry them in butter with a bit of garlic purée. Add a couple of tomatoes. Arrange chopped mushrooms on a plate with tomatoes on top, slice of prosciutto on top of that, cover with grated cheese, add Worcestershire sauce and pop under the grill for a few minutes.

Doesn’t happen often because my husband does most of the cooking and food shopping, and tends to shop as if the supermarket supply chain is about to break down (I generally go through the online order after he’s made it, reducing quantities to what we’ll actually eat in a week and removing things we already have 3 packets of because it doesn’t occur to him to check the fridge/cupboard before ordering... 😁) Before I got married I rarely bothered with proper supper.

blahblahfootballblah · 04/06/2021 21:22

I just hate mushrooms. Yak.

IHaveBrilloHair · 04/06/2021 21:23

Several packets of crisps.

dudsville · 04/06/2021 21:24

Veggie sausage sandwiches or basic pasta (we always have a lemonand olive oil etc).

cupsofcoffee · 04/06/2021 21:24

A mix of random freezer foods.
Pot noodle.
Beans or cheese on toast.
Microwave popcorn.

OverByYer · 04/06/2021 21:24

Pesto pasta or super noodles and chicken nuggets

FindingMeno · 04/06/2021 21:25

Jar of pasta sauce and pasta, or jacket potato with beans/ cheese/ tinned chilli.

Dementedswan · 04/06/2021 21:26

Egg and chips. Failing that a random mix of fish fingers, chicken nuggets or frozen homemade spag bol or curry.

Rockbird · 04/06/2021 21:30

Cheesy marmite pasta which is exactly what it sounds like and both dds' all time favourite meal.

One of the DDs won't eat tuna so a tuna based meal always needs more planning.

ChocOrange1 · 04/06/2021 21:33

We never really run out of food, always have something in the freezer like a batch cooked dinner or something quick to cook from frozen.

If I had to make something with storecupboard ingredients it would he runs pasta bake, campfire stew or just omelet

The corner of Hell where I'm happily at home.

Echobelly · 04/06/2021 21:35

Pasta pesto, like a lot of others

Tuna mayo in a baked spud, usually have the ingredients around

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/06/2021 21:35

If we're talking food that REALLY belongs in a corner of Hell, I propose baked beans.

pregnantncnc · 04/06/2021 21:38

We don't tend to have random stuff in the freezer and I meal plan to within an inch of my life because I've become neurotic like that, so this doesn't happen often (I usually meal plan the below if I know we'll be getting low on food Grin).

Pasta with a jar of sauce, or pesto, or just cheese and butter, or just passata and herbs. Could add frozen peas or spinach.

Rice mixed with a tin of mackerel in tomato sauce... I bloody love this. Or the tin of mackerel on toast - but I'm far less likely to have bread than rice.

Maybe egg fried rice. Although we either finish the week still with 12 eggs left or ran out on day 3.

Lentil dal is another that has already been mentioned. I bulk buy my lentils (exciting) and at the very least I'll have spices and tomato puree, if not also a tin of coconut milk too.

FairyDust123456 · 04/06/2021 21:38

Jacket potato with tuna/mayo or cheese and beans. Nom. It's my go to if I don't know what to have or be bothered to cook anything else!

nothanksbarb · 04/06/2021 21:41

Fish fingers, baked sweet potato with garlic and chilli and peas with a dollop of mayonnaise. It's so yum

FuckUcuntychops · 04/06/2021 21:44

Some made up pasta thing with whatever we can forage from the cupboards or an array of forgotten frozen items after a deep dive in the freezer, that’s always fun!

Sgtmajormummy · 04/06/2021 21:48

Something on toast. Cheese, beans, poached egg.
Something from a tin. Soup, chickpeas and pepper, tomatoes and rice, tuna and sweetcorn.
Something from a packet. Pasta, ramen, red lentils, instant soup, hot chocolate.
Porridge with milk and a pinch of cinnamon.

isseys4xmastinselcats · 04/06/2021 21:51

CallMeCleo · 04/06/2021 21:52
