Tonight I have been hit by a huge wave of nostalgia and longing to go back to my childhood

Does anyone else get this?

I don’t get a wave of nostalgia to go back, I much preferred my parents as an adult to my childhood. I love them dearly but they shouldn’t have had me as I was a lot later on in their lives than my brother and they should have been doing their own thing instead of wrangling a teenager through school.

But I love those days when you go on an adventure with your kids and it takes you back to the first time you did the same. Pre COVID I took dd to a couple of concerts and it was brilliant watching all the girls screaming their heads off and remembering how amazing it felt when I was that age.

I recently found out that my old high school had been demolished and a new super-duper modern one built instead.

I grieved for it!

Lots of times. I'd love to visit it again Grin

Being at primary school and playing on the school field on a warm summer day. Being the same age but so excited about Christmas. Being a teenager and going shopping on a Saturday morning with a friend. Being excited about Christmas as a teenager because parties and boys! Grin

Being totally involved in an imaginary game or the imaginary world of a book.
