He was so lovely and didn’t seem shy as me and my kids watched him through the window!

Do any wildlife experts know.. rabbit, or young hare?

With excitement or fear?

NewMumma1819 · 21/05/2021 20:31

Defo a hare. We see hundreds where we are, they've take over from rabbits here!

That's definitely a hare - check out the ears on him! Gorgeous photo OP!

Itstheprinciple · 21/05/2021 20:35

Too leggy for a bunny.

bloodywhitecat · 21/05/2021 20:37

Hare, black ear tips and walking rather than hopping.

MsRinky · 21/05/2021 20:39

I adore hares, there's something really magical about them. There are lots up where my PIL live on the Yorkshire Wolds, and once I came across a group of nine of them sat in a perfect circle, like knights of the round table. I don't go in for woo, other than where hares are concerned.

Loving the hare love!

I’m in Essex, there are a few big fields and some farmland not far from me but we are near a big town centre as well and certainly not very rural so feeling extra lucky to have had him visit our garden.

He’s a hare! He is so handsome, he looks so young and healthy. I’d love to see some this close up!

Time40 · 21/05/2021 20:47

Ooooh, he/she is beautiful! What a lovely visitor to your garden, OP.

LadyCatStark · 21/05/2021 20:47

I think it’s a hard. We have a whole family of baby rabbits that live by the stream next to my house. We had great fun watching them grow up last summer and seeing new babies pop up on a regular basis! They don’t half eat the flowers in our front garden though.

KaleSlayer · 21/05/2021 20:50

My 6 year old now wants to write a story about him for his teacher on Monday

Aw, that’s lovely.

I’d love to have a hard in my garden. My dogs have scared off everything. 🙄

KaleSlayer · 21/05/2021 20:50

*hare

AlfonsoTheTerrible · 21/05/2021 20:57

Handsome Mr Hare!

I think the story for a teacher on Monday is charming.

TigerTulip · 21/05/2021 20:59

How lucky are you!
I am plagued by rabbits, there's 9 on my lawn at the moment. It's usually bad this time of year as there is some plant or moss or clover that's particularly tasty.
It drives the terrier bonkers, she spends hours at the kitchen window. We have to go out into the garden and shoo them off before we let her out.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 21/05/2021 21:02

a Leverett (sic) and he's gorgeous. So love that he came to the house of the fox lady!

Ostara212 · 21/05/2021 21:04

Thanks for sharing OP, what a lovely thing to see in the garden! Must be a sign of good luck!

AlmostSummer21 · 21/05/2021 21:05

What a gorgeous hare.

Sadly we are getting less & less wildlife here.

Hallyup6 · 21/05/2021 21:06

Definitely a hare, he's beautiful. We love near some open fields and have a resident grey squirrel, foxes, hedgehogs (and a shit load of pigeons from next door) but I've never seen a hare. So lucky!

MissGendered · 21/05/2021 21:10

Beautiful photo, but do they really walk instead of hop? That actually sounds quite terrifying!

SappysCurry · 21/05/2021 21:10

I would dearly love to see more British mammals, like a stoat, a weasel, a pine marten or an otter, sadly I don’t think I ever will but I saw what I think was a mink once (it was very dark and very shiny) that was in Ireland though it crossed the path right in front of us on a hill walk.
I can’t think what else it could have been rather than a mink. It was incredibly beautiful

IdblowJonSnow · 21/05/2021 21:10

A gorgeous leggy hare!

Violetroselily · 21/05/2021 21:11
