AnneLovesGilbert · 20/05/2021 17:10

Brownies with red fruit or caramel sauce
Key lime pie
Semifreddo

Egghead68 · 20/05/2021 17:10

Black Forest Gateau is always good (I would buy it though)

Delicious - and so easy.

PumpkinParent · 20/05/2021 17:41

Bread and butter pudding if it is a colder day
Eton Mess if warmer

SconNotScone · 20/05/2021 18:43

I almost always do a pavlova, I like it because if the meringue doesn’t turn out quite right, I can smash it up and make Eton mess 😂

NellyTimes · 20/05/2021 18:50

I make banoffi pie with a biscuit base but use lotus biscoffs instead of digestives.

DaisyDreaming · 20/05/2021 18:50

@Egghead68 thank you, we used to have that but haven’t for years. I know what I want to make now!

Ozymandias101 · 20/05/2021 18:59

Cheese. Cheese and crackers. All day, every day.
If you want options buy LOADS of kinds of cheese! There are hundreds!

If you're feeling exotic/craving something sweet, a slice of apple is an acceptable garnish.

Artesia · 20/05/2021 19:01

Mango and passion fruit pavlova. A guaranteed hit, and really easy.

LeanneBrownsLonelyBraincell · 20/05/2021 19:03

Rhubarb crumble and custard

GintyMcGinty · 20/05/2021 19:05

Profiteroles with a hot chocolate sauce
Banoffee Pie
Chocolate mousse cake
Apple struddle and vannilla ice cream
Rhubarb pie/crumble and custard

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 20/05/2021 19:10

This time of year I'd make my gorgeous lemon posset.

Served with amaretto biscuits and fresh raspberries.

Very light and spring-y and the perfect pairing with a chocolate option if you are having a couple of choices.

Ridiculously easy

HelloCanYouHearMe · 20/05/2021 19:29

Baked cheesecake or Tiramisu

myhobbyisouting · 20/05/2021 19:35

Cheese

Egghead68 · 20/05/2021 19:36

@DaisyDreaming here’s the official recipe (if this is the one you meant):

Strawberry Meringue Roulade - looks complicated but actually very easy. Looks great on the plate!

MagicSummer · 20/05/2021 19:38

And don't bother with the yoghurt - double cream all the way!

katy1213 · 20/05/2021 19:38

Bread ad butter pudding with brandy.

WellTidy · 20/05/2021 19:39

If I’m making for guests, always a crumble. Blackberry usually as we have so many in the freezer from foraging.

If I’m making for just us, Sherry trifle. Nothing flashy - sponge fingers soaked in Sherry, fresh raspberries (or frozen ones with extra added sugar), jelly and then I pour ready made custard over when I serve.

In a restaurant, tiramisu if I don’t care about the calories, sorbet if I do.

PermanentTemporary · 20/05/2021 19:42

Baked apples. Bramleys. Core out, put in a metal tin, fill the hole generously with sugar, and bake for about 30 mins. I tend to just put imthem in with whatever else is roasting so I don't know what temperature. For a big meal, choice of ice cream, cream or yogurt to serve.

reluctantbrit · 20/05/2021 19:45

Panna cotta. Easy to prepare, especially as it can be made the day before.

Can put any fruit on the top. Whenever we go anywhere I'm always asked to bring one of these.

OhMyAttic · 20/05/2021 20:23

Cheesecake. Or DH can go and buy something.
