I've just come to the end of a 48 pack of Who gives a Crap bamboo toilet paper as it was on offer. ( for those that have never heard of it, you buy online and they give money to third world countries for better sanitation )and
I usually buy the Andrea triple one, but bought Andrex Clean which is a little meh .
Which loo paper do you buy ?

Cheeky panda bamboo toilet roll. Bought it in tesco once and now get it on a groupon deal. It lasts longer than asda quilted as it has more sheets per roll

TheAlphaandtheOmega · 15/05/2021 15:31

Andrex Pebble which you can only get from Amazon or Morrisons, Amazon sell it in packs of 45 which I buy when it goes on offer. Its a creamy orange colour which I prefer to white. I also don't get the really thick quilted or DH would be constantly getting the drain rods out.

I buy the coconut infused ones , supermarkets own brands as make the bathrooms smell nice

I buy Cheeky Panda. It’s eco friendly made from bamboo and isn’t bleached like lots of other brands.

Waitrose essential

“ Does quilted block drains!?! shock why does it bloody exist then, I had no idea!”

It was drummed into me as a child (living in a house with very old shallow drains) that the only thing that was flushed was absolutely standard no frills toilet paper. It makes sense to me that quilted is harder/take longer to disintegrate in water and therefore more likely to block.

They make it for the same reason they make “flushable” wipes - people buy it.

DW is on a bit of an eco crusade at the moment and ordered a box of 48 rolls from Who Gives a Crap (delightfully fetching name) as we had a houseful at Christmas. We’re still using the bloody things up - I think we’re down to the last three - as we weren’t that impressed with it and tended to replace each roll with supermarket best until we had nothing else left.

Before lockdown I used to do all the supermarket shopping and used to buy Andrex with the puppy on the packaging. Then when things went a bit loopy pre-lockdown it was a question of get whatever you can (and use both sides) as a result of panic buying. When lockdown was imposed I was forbidden to go to the supermarket and we switched to online shopping with DW doing all the orders so now we have supermarket own brand, I believe. With the occasional WGaC of course. Fascinating subject: one for small talk I think, along with ‘Which day do you put your bin out?’

Stilltalkstotrees · 15/05/2021 16:01

Sainsbury's recycled - it's fine.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 15/05/2021 16:03

Andrex because... puppies...

LookItsMeAgain · 15/05/2021 16:06

Regina Seriously Soft.
I've tried the likes of Kleenex or Andrex or even some of the own brand ones and I get this when it's on special offer in our supermarket.
It doesn't dissolve when it gets wet and it cleans my ample arse well! Grin
I need a toilet tissue that will dissolve over time (environmental reasons) but not while it is in my hand doing it's job so that's why I buy Regina.

Ringsender2 · 15/05/2021 16:07

Tesco recycled 9 pack. About half the price of most of the other 9 packs and better than Nicky for wipe strength. And it comes in a paper wrapper not plastic

takingmytimeonmyride · 15/05/2021 16:15

Tesco, Spring Force, 9 pack. I don't really see the point on paying loads for it, it all does the same job.

Passthecake30 · 15/05/2021 16:19

Cushelle, I have tried WGAC as I can but single rolls from the local refill shop for £1 but I find it very thin (so we use more sheets) and scratchy. Piles and sensitive bits here need more comfort, but teenager likes WGAC so I buy him one as a “treat” every now and then Grin

Partypoooooper · 15/05/2021 16:22

Not the cheapest but the next one up own supermarket brown. So long as it doesn't rip my a hole to shreds and my finger doesn't go through the paper - who cares!

claireb7rg · 15/05/2021 16:42

Cheeky panda here, used to use andrex quilted but swapped recently as I've been gradually switching us over to eco friendly products

ISaidDontLickTheBin · 15/05/2021 16:45

Asda shades in packs of 24. Decent straightforward stuff - DP won't have quilted in any of the loos.

Livpool · 15/05/2021 16:46

Nicky

MyGrassIsBrowner · 15/05/2021 16:48

Tesco Springforce.. it's the only one that doesn't block our loos and it's cheap. DH isn't too keen as he shits a lot and says it's like sandpaper 😂

WyldStallions · 15/05/2021 16:52

Like others I buy the cheap recycled stuff for the sake of our drains. Plumber told me back in our first house never ever ever to buy Charmin (now cushelle?) Which is how our neighbour had blocked the shared drain. Has worked for me ever since!

Trinacham · 15/05/2021 17:33

I get this one too.

Good paper for the price.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 15/05/2021 17:36

We have a garage full of Kirkland Signature bog roll from Costco. It’s great, reasonably priced and I love knowing that we’re not going to run out for months.

winnieanddaisy · 15/05/2021 18:04

@SomethingNastyInTheBallPool . Kirkland all the way for us too !

AlmostSummer21 · 15/05/2021 18:11

@Blowingagale

Andrex - original, not quilted, scented, no puppies on it. I have tried others but prefer Andrex - one of the products I like the brand name
Have you tried the 'new and improved' 'original' yet.

I ordered my usual original took some off the roll and thought 'this feels different' and used it. Definitely different. It disintegrates as soon as it gets damp. Fabulous if you want a semi permanent snow effect foof - I do not.

Ive sort of got used to it snd use it carefully, but I am NOT impressed & will start trying others.

Apparently the wave pattern does a better job of cleaning ?!?!?!

Why can't they leave things alone?!?!

Bagelsandbrie · 15/05/2021 18:16

Andrex sensitive. I suffer with frequent urine infections and thrush (thanks to chronic and disabling lupus and other autoimmune issues) and find if I use that I don’t get so many flare ups.

WhoWants2Know · 15/05/2021 18:17

I buy the cheapest value one because it doesn't block the drain and seems to last twice as long as the others.
