Guess the year by what your childhood bedroom was like

I was having a discussion earlier with friends how you can identity which era and quite possibly the year by describing what your child hood bedroom was like.

Naming which posters were on your wall makes it far too easy!

For example, when I was 8 my bedroom was lime green and bright orange. I had a tape recorder in one corner and a tv with a dodgy ariel in the other. My furniture was all pine and I had a cork board on the wall - what year was this?

Nearly! 😊 I was at Uni in 97. In 98/99 I had the inflatable chair, HMV posters etc The Athena one I had during Sixth Form - 95-97.

Laura Ashley duvet, curtains, wallpaper. Sponge painted on the non papered wall. Athena posters.

lolita, Yes! Started university same year. Athena posters, one quoting 'A hard man is good to find' which my mother would have burned ritually before I was halfway down the M1 to uni. Really wanted the large swanky ones.

Earlier, from about, ooh, 1993, Magic Eye posters, although I never put them on the walls because I have never, not once, seen what they say they concealed. Something of a regret in life. Also add a light bulb that was painted in kind of blue and red hot air balloon style sections (that may well have influenced whether I could see any magic eye pictures).

Bunk beds with Aladdin bedding, a spice girls bean bag, an old chest of drawers with a hamster cage on it.

I didn't have much that was of the era - my parents just furnished my room with whatever old furniture was to hand - mostly 1950s stuff. But when I was about 9 I had a yellow alarm clock with flap-over numbers, a bin with a faux-fur cover and felt face on it and a musical jewellery box with a cut-out forest and whirling ballerina that played 'Swan Lake'.

As a 15 year old, I had a dancing sunflower - you put it by your cassette player and it 'danced' to the music. They were all the rage for about 5 minutes.

I bought a Pierrot doll when I was 14 which was around then.

People will already know my age but how old was I when I had grey, white and pink striped wallpaper and curtains, a mega cool hi-fi with record player, tape deck and radio and a cabin bed from MFI?

@gingerkittykat early 80's for me as I was born in 69. MFI brings back memories!

I also had Boyzone and leonardo di caprio on my walls. It was Leo crazy in 97/98!
