A whole year and I've only just noticed that DH has a stunt work shirt

Generally he's been wearing a t-shirt and fleece but every now and then he has a video call with a client and wears a shirt. The stunt shirt hangs on a hanger on the handle of his wardrobe door. It gets worn for maybe 30 minutes at a time up to twice a week so lasts for two or three weeks before going in the laundry basket.

It's going to be a wrench for him going back to the office as he clearly dislikes work shirts, he runs straight upstairs after the call finishes to get back into his t-shirt and fleece. Grin

A bit like me and shoes, I've barely worn shoes for a whole year and now they feel wrong. Grin

On the back of this thread I just went and tried on a pair of heels I always found pretty easy to wear, and my god, I'm going to have to get back into training if I'm ever to wear them again. It was seriously painful, my poor toes!!

NonagonInfinityOpensTheDoor · 13/05/2021 13:51

I’m the same. I have a work too and blazer I’ve not washed in weeks Grin luckily I only need it for the odd 30 minutes a week, I’m lucky that I’m not going back to the office though.

But what about random Teams phone calls? They’re pretty much just meetings that haven’t been scheduled in your calendar.
Thankfully in my place they’re just treated like phone calls and no cameras are used. Tbh I’d me mainly presentable just with messy hair and no make up.

Stunt backdrop here. Artfully draped fabric to look like I have curtains up, clothes airer replaced with small bookcase (filled with my stunt books naturally) and trendy lamp borrowed from DS.

My DH has a stunt personality and a different voice on a Teams call. Does that count?

I've noticed since the shops have reopened how many elasticated waist trousers there are, not only casulal ones but quite smart ones too. It's all I wear so I'm made up.

What would be really nice is a stunt DH, to hover in the background looking gorgeous and bring me coffee.

You can bring yourself coffee, this guy did.

My children used to spend ages creating greenscreen backgrounds of them bringing beer/snacks/the dog for zoom quiz night.

FelicityLemon · 13/05/2021 16:18

I agree re the shoes. I recently had to leave the house to work after a year and I had to wear shoes, tights and a tailored jacket none of which I have had to wear for video appearances. I am not looking forward to a return to formal wear on both halves of my body.

amispeakingenglish · 15/05/2021 17:32

I don't have to do zoom but basically have done the same all lockdown with shopping outfit and dog walking outfit. Latter gets washed about once a month, shopping outfit depends on if its been used for a hospital visit and I have sat on a chair, then it gets washed, otherwise its the same as the dog walking outfit. As soon as I get home I change into fleece/joggers or lighter top comfy bottoms if warmer, again these house clothes last all week. If I get home later than 5.30 it's straight into pjs! I have a morning dressing gown (BHS years old) Thin fleece and it has some marks so ok to do housework in. Evening dressing gown (M&S newer) is thick with a hood and is only for relaxing in, no housework/washing up. I have got so lazy with clothes actually feel a bit moany about the possiblity of having to put more thought into dressing!!

SimonJT · 15/05/2021 17:40

I have stunt shirt and ties, the shirt is artfully tucked into my pants, I have three combos on rotation so I don’t look smelly. I’m also sat in front of a bookcase, however you’re more likely to spot the dinosaur who pooped a planet than any classics.

My husband also had stunt shirts, his are all velcro or magnets rather than buttons, so he literally rips them off when the camera is turned off 😂

You can get too relaxed though, I very nearly did a school pick up in pants and a t-shirt, the poor porter pointed out my attire Blush

EggysMom · 15/05/2021 18:45

I have spent the last fifteen months with only slippers or trainers gracing my feet. I decided I couldn't face going back to smart pointy work shoes with heels, and took myself off to a well-known expensive shoe shop to buy some well-fitting black brogues.

Marmite27 · 15/05/2021 18:48

I work in my pjs, but my immediate team know. I start at 6am, so can’t be arsed to get dressed.

They sent me new pjs for my birthday Grin

jackstini · 15/05/2021 19:18

Yep - have a stunt top in the drawer for teams calls

Sometimes is thrown on with no bra and my dressing gown is tied around my waist beneath it...

Not even sorry in the slightest!

Susannahmoody · 15/05/2021 19:26

I've noticed people have work uniforms die being on camera. Boss wears pale blue cycling t-shirts. I always wear a scarf. Other person wears a shirt and a t-shirt underneath. Everyone wears the same clothes all the time, so they strip off back to their pj's after the meeting I suppose.
