What's your favourite horror film?

DH and I love horrors but seem to have exhausted Netflix etc - what's your favourite? Any hidden gems we might not have seen?

I don't do well with the Paranormal Activity style films but might be brave / give DH a laugh while I scream.

I loved get out but am a real baby where it comes to horror. I thought it was more thriller like.

I can’t have anything on at all I would love to watch horror films but can’t bear it.

To hell films were quite good too - most of the best already mentioned

The Taking of Deborah Logan, Race with the Devil (70s), Willow Creek, Jugface, The Howling and The Lost Coast Tapes are very good!

DeadButDelicious · 09/05/2021 16:43

Good thread! My personal favourites are;

The Blair Witch Project
An American Werewolf In London
The Exorcist 3 (Brad Dourif is excellent)
Nosferatu
Salem's Lot
Fright Night (the original)
Bram Stokers Dracula
The Babadook
Hereditary

And if you want a chuckle, What We Do In The Shadows is brilliant!

I'm having a Korean tv and movie binge fest.
Train to Busan and The Wailing are both great.
Also recommend the tv series Kingdom. Crazy storyline about zombies and politics, best thing I've watched for ages.

LunaNorth · 09/05/2021 17:15

Train to Busan is excellent! Scary and funny!

BrownEyedGirl80 · 09/05/2021 17:18

Another vote for the 1989 Woman in Black. It's haunted me ever since!

augustusglupe · 09/05/2021 23:30

The Shining.

MercyBooth · 10/05/2021 02:25

Nothing But The Night, includes a very young Gwyneth Strong (Cassandra from Only Fools and Horses)
