London mayoral election; Conservative. I don’t think he’s a particularly good candidate actually but Sadiq Khan has done nothing good for the city so far so let’s see what someone else can do.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 05/05/2021 16:44

Labour, just to send Boris a message

sessell · 05/05/2021 16:45

Spoiling my ballot also. First time ever and don't feel good about it. But my local Labour candidate is a gender identity extremist and the greens and libdems are mostly a lost cause on that issue too. So all I can do is protest. On the positive side the Labour and LibDem PCC candidates have come out with sensible views on #sexnotgender and I will vote for one of them.

Blacktothepink · 05/05/2021 16:46

Labour

AgeLikeWine · 05/05/2021 16:49

Lib Dem.

As a former Labour activist, I could never vote Tory. The Labour Party left me when it elected Corbyn leader, and it’s still far too ‘woke’. It needs to move back much further to the centre / mainstream ground on cultural issues to regain my support.

GintyMcGinty · 05/05/2021 16:59

I've seen a city council seat lost, after two recounts, by two votes.
You bet they cared about the spoiled ballots

Sorry they really don't. They will absolutely kick themselves for not persuading 3 more of their own supporters to turn out. But spoiled votes are not regarded as target voters.

Candidates and agents are shown spoiled votes so that they can check they are legitimately spoiled and make sure there are non that should be counted. Sometimes there is an opportunity for a collective chuckle over a witty joke or well drawn picture but that is the amount of it.

sourrain · 05/05/2021 18:05

Voting Lib Dem in a Tory area, tactically. Would vote Labour or Green but neither stand a chance here. Independent candidate seems ok but too much of a risk; Lib Dems typically tend to do relatively well so they have my vote (reluctantly).

pointythings · 05/05/2021 18:10

Local elections only where I am. Am voting for our strongest independent. He's wrong on Brexit, but he's actually made some tangible positive local changes and that's what the vote is about. Also he has a real chance of kicking the Tory out.

anon12345678901 · 05/05/2021 18:12

Conservative

Hairbrush123 · 05/05/2021 18:12

I have voted Conservatives. I have already voted via postal vote a few weeks ago. I live in Warwickshire.

Mumbot345635 · 05/05/2021 18:15

Spoiling your ballot is akin to voting for the worst person on there - because you are letting the people voting for the worst person on their win.

Please go and vote for the best even if you think they are all bad options. Otherwise you are letting the pillocks win. If it’s voting for the least worst then so be it. But it’s better than voting for the worst which is what not voting /spoiling your vote means

safariboot · 05/05/2021 18:26

I spoiled my PCC ballot last year and might do so again - because I don't think the position should even exist at all.

safariboot · 05/05/2021 18:26

Last time, I meant. Was a few years ago.

firstimemamma · 05/05/2021 18:27

I always vote green.

LadyFlossieParkingson · 05/05/2021 18:29

Conservative

Labour but only because I know and like the local candidate from when DH worked with him.

Otherwise I’m not sure.

EdwinPootsLovesArchaeology · 05/05/2021 18:39

All the candidates in my ward are woke arseholes.

LudoBear · 05/05/2021 18:40

I don't understand why you'd spoil your ballot. Seems pointless. Won't make any difference to anything.

Couldn't give a shit about voting. Only time I've ever voted was whether to stay or leave the EU.

InglouriousBasterd · 05/05/2021 18:46

Sadiq Khan first choice, women equality second I think

Labour in the London assemblies

cr4postcode · 05/05/2021 18:57

As I think someone said earlier in the thread. For London Mayor. It makes more sense to vote the smaller party candidate first and then labour/conservative as 2nd choice. The minority party very likely wont make it to the 2nd round so your vote for them is kind of wasted if you vote for them as 2nd choice.

ApplyWithin · 05/05/2021 19:06

FYI the Women’s Equality Party doesn’t not support women’s sex-based rights and spaces.

WE recognise that the binary words “woman” and “man” do not reflect the gender experience of everyone in our country and support the right of all to define their sex

Anyone who believes in women’s sport, all-women shortlists, women’s loos or changing rooms - they won’t support this. They are there for anyone who calls themself a woman, whether they are or not.

InglouriousBasterd · 05/05/2021 19:25

That’s interesting ApplyWithin - I just read the mini manifesto and didn’t spot that. I’ll rethink that one.

CormoranStrike · 05/05/2021 19:41

Labour (Scotland)

Hazel444 · 05/05/2021 19:41

Count Binface for the mayor, Green for everything else.
