Don't say where you live but do you have a 'secret' place that only locals know about?

I used to live in North London on the A1, within 10 mins was a small but lovely park, I never met anyone else there in 3 years.

A sweet walled garden with great views over the sea.

A park with a view of a famous skyline for free. I'm always telling visitors about it and it consistently gets ignored.

Place is crawling with locals though...

@Stichintime

A pub that only I went to. Then I realised it was actually someone's front room and the owners were just being friendly.
Please tell us more. How did you mistake it for a pub?

There's a secret beach near me. Well, bit of shoreline. The sea is muddy and gross so you wouldn't want to swim in it and the beach is made up of rocks and bricks, but considering it's right by a very busy road, it is so peaceful. The trees block out most of the traffic noise so you can just hear birds. In the summer I love sitting on a big rock and just chill or read. There's also a path along a small cliff where I will sit with a coffee. Sometimes it gets very busy and there are four or five other people there!!

Further down the road, there's another secret beach that's more 'beachy'. It's not walking distance from my house though and not on a bus route. When I've been there it has been marginally busy but I still saw a big group of swans and a heron. Oh and sadly a dead hedgehog which looked totally unharmed and uninjured.

Beautiful streams with woodland, deer grazing and kingfishers in the trees

You’d never know driving through, people come here for walking and miss the actual nice bit all the time

We have a secret BMX track in the woods and until recently, the ancient gates to the city (I can’t say which city or it would give it away). They’ve been moved back now and feature a lot on telly but we just to just walk past them like they were a normal part of the woods.

Yes a nature reserve that takes you to a major airport. I can actually (and do often) walk to the airport train station.
